Hope you have fun blueberry picking today and glad your hubby will be with you for protection. Bears love blueberries. I'll never forget the time up in northern Maine when the family went up there for vacation. My brothers and I went into a field of blueberries with our pails. I was very little at the time (about 3 years old) and I remember picking blueberries and sitting on the ground eating them (none went into the pail . . . :hilarious: ).

Anyway, within a short time, we heard a noise and saw a bear about 30 feet away. We moved out of there quickly, but the bear actually could have cared less about us; he was content to munch on blueberries! ;)
Thank you for your concern! Many blueberry farms now have air guns that go off at very regular times to scare both the birds and bears away. I'm more worried about the bears in my neighborhood than any at a farm. Luckily the bears in the northeast are black bears which for the most part are more afraid of you than vice versa. I still carry a small air horn when I go walking better safe than sorry. BTW we got a rather large haul and I already made a large tray of blueberry apple crumb.:hungry::hungry::hungry:

It's horrible now. I was bullied in middle school pretty badly by this one girl. She would stop me in the hallway, especially if I was alone, and call me names, taunt me, laugh at me, call me fat, etc. She would bring her friends and they would basically create a wall around me so that I could not escape. I would try to stand up to her, tell her to go away, etc., but it never worked, except for that one time my one friend, who could get really scary when she was mad, told her to turn around and walk away before the girl could even open her mouth. It got to the point that I was afraid to walk alone in the hallways, though. I reported it to the administration when it happened. Know what the administrator said? "Oh, typical girl trouble." I even got in trouble for telling her to shut up. Really? There are a lot worse things that I could have said to her.

My dad finally made a phone call to the administrator. Let's just say the problem stopped after that.:cautious:

In retrospect, I am glad that my parents made the decision to not allow me to have social media until I was older. I was on sites where I was anonymous, like this one, in high school, but no Facebook (or MySpace, which was the popular website for a while) or anything with my name on it until age 18. I could have an instant messaging account and email, but nothing else. I think it probably saved me from a good deal of bullying, especially in middle school. Maybe in high school too, although my one friend said he never really observed it by then.
Sympathy like. I have the same social media rules in my house! My little guy only gets to post on here with my account for the next year or so. I have to be logged in and I watch him the whole time.

It's hard to read about your high school experience. It baffles me, just how lame those girls were, let alone what a group of cowards they were, all ganging up together on one person. The most shocking part about reading your experience after the fact, is that I know (as do others on here) that you are a very intelligent, kind-hearted, and fun person. Because those girls were so boorish and ignorant, they lost out on getting to know you; and they blew an opportunity to create and foster, what could have been a wonderful friendship.

We have a possible wedding in Portugal to attend 2017 and maybe a vow renewal for us (13 years).2018 may be an Alaskan cruise depending on the one next year and then maybe possibly back to WDW in 2019 . . .:angelic:
:( It figures! My dh said to see what you're doing 2017 and hopefully it would have been a SWW trip! That's the one year we'd be able to go in May.:( The one upside is you can't be a bad influence to my dh in Darth's Mall:oops::confused: Still very:(:(:(:(

I'm sure they're the type of people who turned burger flipping into a career or at least one can hope!
