Agreed. I think sometimes you just get a feeling. My same Iranian friend has known every time one of the girls in our group gets pregnant. And I called almost every one of them when they went into labor, just calling to check on them and see how they were and they were huffing and puffing. 6th sense, I guess.
I like to think that I'm being "taken" care of. :)

Thanks! It's a great forum here! What is the one thing you wish first timers to Disney knew? Something etiquette-wise, or an easter egg that most people miss, etc?
I'm a chocolate fan myself. I'm dying to try the butterfinger cupcake from starring rolls!!

If you partake in adult beverages, I'd suggest getting an ice cream martini at L' Artisan des Glaces. I had planned to last month, but just didn't have the opportunity to try it. :(

Yep, I remember all that fun...! ;)
We have 3 kiddos (DD 20, DS 22, DD 24). DS was born very premature and has special needs, so does not (and may never) have a license.
I must say though, both DDs are very good drivers, and pretty much were from the beginning. :)
Take deep breaths...! ;)

Also, WELCOME...! :)

Thanks for the welcome! I am really enjoying this site. I have no doubt my daughter will eventually be a good driver, but getting her there is a bit nerve racking. I think my parents are enjoying watching me go through this with glee :)

People here don't generally bake. And they think most American baked goods are too sweet, though I have gotten my in-laws hooked on brownies. They still won't go for cheesecake, though. Silly people.

Regarding the too sweet part...
There is a family apple/pear strudel recipe that I bake every now and then.
Our office is pretty much food insanity most of the year, especially during the holidays. ;)
Anyway, when I brought it to the office for the first time, everyone loved it, and commented that it was because it wasn't so overpoweringly sweet.
They liked the fact that it was balanced, and then some of us got into a conversation about how so many old world treats were different in that way.
Time tested.

Hahahaha! Well, it's gluten free. Instead of using flour to make pizza dough, you steam cauliflower and puree it and make the crust from that. It doesn't taste bad, though it's hard to pick up. At least the recipe I used didn't work.
no no no no no *covers his ears* nope nope!
not more cauliflower plz!

Nope, the deal is only valid in moderate resorts, or the regular dining package with the deluxe resorts. I looked again, but the difference for us to pay for the dining package is about $600, so it's not worth it no more than we'll eat at table service restaurants. I actually crunched the numbers and it's cheaper for us with this deal to stay in the moderate resort than it is to stay at the value resort, because of the free QS dining. We're looking at 10 days. We were only going to stay 5, but we can do 10 days at the moderate resort for $200 more than we could stay at a value for 5 with this deal through the international site. So that's what we're doing if there's still availability when flights open up. The offer is valid through Oct. 20th, so I'll still be able to get the deal as long as there are rooms available.
I do not see whats wrong with moderates. hotels like POR .. are gorgeous! :O

Yep, prayers...
I'm the oldest of 4, so I was the first to "break" my folks in.
Pop didn't seem too affected by it all (outwardly, anyway ;)), but, mom was a bit more transparent...! :D

Totally agree with this. I'm so used to high food prices living out here, and find Disney prices either right on the mark or lower. But then I'm sure that's true compared with most urban areas in the US.
I honestly found prices on Disney to be more expensive with less amount on food than the restaurants in Houston I've visited.
Not sure how widespread the difference is compared to other cities.
