For those that visited Animal Kingdom did anyone meet Thumper from Bambi? I remember Thumper and Miss Bunny (The bunny that flirts with Thumper) meeting guests years ago but Miss Bunny for some reason hasn't been seen in the park for a while now. She was seen during the Easter pre parade in the Magic Kingdom a few times though. Also am I the only person who confuse Miss Bunny with Thumper's sisters?

Like right now I'm at my other job where I'm alone and I'm creeped out by a scary movie trailer I saw this past weekend at the movie theater.
I have never ever gone to a scary movie. I don't enjoy them. I'm not scared because my brain constantly tells me it's just play acting, but, I just don't find that stuff entertaining. Life is scary enough for me.
I take that back, I did take a date to a scary movie at a drive in once, but, I don't remember seeing the movie. I was to busy comforting the poor young lady.
See that is one of the many reasons that I have that halo. I'm a comforting person and care about others.

They were nowhere to be found on the times guide in June, unfortunately.

I disagree, it was a very good movie, however, it lacked the needed happy ending to be considered a pleasant movie that one would want to see. It does give closure to the trilogy though and worthy of one look see. Just don't expect to walk away in a less then totally depressed state of mind.

Yeah, that would be the main reason why I'd want to watch it, since it's a trilogy. Just from watching the first one, I definitely don't expect a happy ending. :p

And that is why this is the last weekend for our pools. There is one small pool that will open on the weekend until Labor Day, but the season is pretty much done.

Yep. The WaterPark my DD manages PT today had 11 lifeguards, ideally it should be 14 to open the half of the park she opened. While she has other responsibilities from admissions to chemicals etc., she never left the deck as to keep an eye on the half park. Some Patrons just don't get the return to school thing on a whole and she gets that but sadly that doesn't mean a select few don't take the opportunity to abuse the heck out of her and the other managers on deck.

It is what it is. It reminds me of the tales my DS has told of his experiences at WDW when things don't go as planned for the guests that are beyond their control. Human Nature I guess.

I'm so glad to hear about all the training today. Back in my day, the popular kids got those jobs!

Yes, they are well trained. Their facility changed over to Ellis which is what WDW/DL/and now Cruise Ships use about 5 years ago, before was Red Cross. They are undercover audited monthly by Ellis and guards are filmed by Ellis by employees that just pay admission to gain entry into the parks. After the audit they need to demonstrate skills to the auditor to pass the audit. When my DS was a college program student at WDW he went through their program while he was Red Cross back home. He was amazed at the differences. When he returned home to finish college the facility at the park district opted to go Ellis and he embraced that. It is expensive but it also helps the insurance rates for the park district for the cost/training of the lifeguards.

In the past week it helped. Stupid kids playing dead man, holding their breath and one really passed out and gulped water. Her staff snarf'd him up, got the water out of his lungs and had him breathing again all before the paramedics rolled into the park. Word of advice. Know your daycamp and how carefully the staff watches their campers. Lifeguards do just that, guard life but are not baby sitters. That thought is lost on many a patron.
