Rant:

To all dumb @$$ journalist. HARRY POTTER IS NOT A THEME PARK. IT'S A LAND OR SECTION WITHIN A THEME PARK. Sorry, it just makes me mad whenever they say a Harry Potter theme park just got built.

This came about because Sea World's financials came out today which mentioned Universal.

You and my Dad would have a wonderful discussion. There was not a WDW when I was born. My Mom took me to DL from the time I was 1 1/2 as we had family close to the park. My Dad to this day refers all of WDW and especially the MK as Disneyland.

Boo . . . that sounds like a big letdown after your fun trip. Sorry to hear about your allergies, in particular.

As for it being cold, maybe you could put on a warm fleecy sweater, and if it's dark, maybe turn on a light. There. I've just solved almost half of your problems already! :D Things should be looking up for you in no time! Welcome back, and you always have us "kids" here to talk to! :p

Ha! Too funny woman! :D

I love chocolate milkshakes, and I also like vanilla milkshakes. Interesting that you have some sort of lactose intolerance. That must be frustrating. My mother was allergic to milk, too. Luckily, I never was.

4 for 4 of us have issues with dairy. We all love ice cream and cheese. We all eat dairy in moderation. Skip the milk eat the ice cream type of moderation.

Can't help, but nice figurine.

To me, the $35 price difference between a site that doesn't have any and Amazon which has at least two, is worth it.
My mom used to play "reduce it to ridiculous" to help put things in perspective. It's basically a buck a day for five weeks. Is it worth it? Only you can decide that.

Of course, don't listen to me, I just went on a $3K Disney shopping spree, but will walk six blocks rather than pay $4 for the doctor's office parking lot.

P.S. I have never spent this wildly at WDW before, or probably ever will again; but I figured we deserved it.

Okay, time to wrap up yesterday before posting loot, hat and atmosphere pics.
We started the day with 6 leftover CS credits and 24 Snack Credits.
So, off to Pepper Market for brekkie.

None of us cared for the potatoes. Didn't stop us from eating them though.

We took our time with this meal, spending a full hour at the table, mostly talking about Hubby's dad, who was a WW II veteran, seriously wounded in Holland.
Without being obnoxiously obvious about it, we observed 2 minutes of silence at 11:00.
I didn't notice anyone else doing it. Is that not a thing in America?

WOOOOOHHHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! :joyfull: :joyfull: :joyfull:
Congrats to her, and so very happy for her, you, and your whole family!!!!!!!
I know how important this is to you...!!!!! :)

Thank you! I'm over the moon happy for her. This particular offer came after a month long process of interviews. She knew the University had spoken to her lead director and talked to him a long time about her (his outer office is filled with little cubes of employees that share.) The gentleman that put the offer forward to her was the one that had told her a month ago they were peas from the same pod, both alumni from the same University. Thrilled she got into the University vs having to first do the elementary or high school route. Woot!

And yes, so important to me, she is a great kid. As I now think about it you have seen her life unfold from high school to college visits to graduation. It has been an amazing ride. But you have me beat, I have not married off any yet!

As you know, we ended up going to DAK - on the hottest day of our entire trip. Go figure.
Too hot and too many people for Hubby and Tam-Tam.

Of the three day-of FPP's we snagged, we didn't end up using any of them.
We did the Safaris on stand-by.

Not looking to cause a firestorm here, but I have to comment on something that transpired in line, directly in front of us.
A woman decided to walk through the queue and nurse her baby. And for that, I say good on her ... but seriously lady, how about some discretion?
I nursed my first baby for 9 months, and due to some serious issues, I 100% exclusively nursed Son #2 for a whole year. I am militant about a woman's right to feed anytime, anywhere. But when your whole breast is exposed and everyone can see nipple, I call foul! Nobody else seemed impressed, and the more stares and glances she got, the more she flaunted it. Also, baby was not a newborn who needed to be fed on demand, but a 2 year old who then walked the rest of the way after feeding.
YMMV, but I was not impressed. Kinda felt like she was just making a statement.

But I digress. I know Safari pics get old fast, so here are just a few:

And, while attempting to keep my camera always at the ready, but safely in the truck, I took this shot and five more just like it:

Awe. Look at it as pangs of Love vs Guilt. :inlove: You're doing the right thing when a manchild at that age calls his Mom to say good-night. Cherish those little moments instead of slipping regrets into a loving moment, you both will be happier for it.

My dad called his mother every night to say good night until the day she died so I don't take offense at my son being called a manchild. However, I prefer to call him a gentleman.

Yea, I guess I have kinda' been there for a bit of it. :)
Again, so very happy for her, you, and all of y'all!!! :joyfull:

As far as the marryin' off thing goes, it wasn't somethin' I was tryin' to do ;), but, they were HS sweethearts and it is all good. They are hoping to have enough saved to buy their first home in about a year, or so. They are, prudently, wanting to wait a few years to start a family, though. It will be sweet when it happens, but, I'm in no hurry to be a Pawpaw. ;) :)

Not that I know of...I know it is a tradition tied to Remembrance Day for our neighbors up North but I can't ever remember it happening around here. Could be wrong about it elsewhere though.

I like Pocky sticks too. I have found them at Target much to my surprise.

I think the place that I have purchased the most has been Mexico. While the shop has become smaller over the years I always find unique items there. My DS has a nice backpack and jacket from Mexico too. His favorite store though has to have been Norway for their Helly Hansen. He is nervous over what Frozen will do to the shops within Norway and is really hoping that the entire entire pavilion is not Frozenized. :cold:
I love the Hello Hansen merchandise too and the perfume is a must "spray by" as I call it every time we go into WS.

After the safari, we took a stroll through the new Harambe section.
I've seen dozens of photos of the area, but strangely it was not quite located where I thought it was. Maybe they moved it on Monday, just to disorient me.

It's beautiful there, and wonderfully themed, but I am pretty sure this was not performed by a Union electrician:

We could have walked right into FotLK, and Hubby said, "Go ahead, Honey".
This is not the same as, "Sure, let's go", so I made the executive decision to skip it.

From there, we ambled through Asia, while I looked wistfully at EE. The sweat pouring off the other two in buckets led me to believe that this too, was a no-go for this year.

We headed over to Dinosaur and hopped into a 10 minute Stand-by line. I love this ride, but Hubby's squished knees and Tammy's delicate tummy meant it was going to be a one-and-done.

Mike and I grabbed some frozen lemonade, which we ate in the shade outside the Nemo show. Having seen it last year, I didn't even suggest it to Hubby.

I suggested maybe we should head out, thereby making me hero of the day.

On the way out, you just know I had to get this shot:
