Tammy and I each had the Ooey Gooey Toffeecake.

Hubby got some kind of peach crumble. Somewhere there under that ice cream.

With the exception of some of the ice cream, this was the only meal that I ate every single bite!
I warned Mike ahead of time that there would be no leftovers for him this meal, and suggested he order the clam chowder.

After lunch, we used our FP's for Haunted Mansion. On a whim, we ducked into Momento Mori one last time, on the off chance that they might finally have my book ends in stock. And oh happy day - they did.
I will post pics once I get them in my office.

I love MM, but that place is ridiculously small. A half dozen staff standing about doesn't help.
I was never able to get pics for y'all. Sorry.

Yes I know that people have different ideas about child support. I just thank God that he keeps me healthy so I can work. I don't take any financial support from anyone but I feel very fortunate that I have had the opportunities I have had so I don't have to. Our annual WDW trip came about because I have to work weekends and holidays so planning these trips gave us something to look forward to so that when I'm at work it is not so bad. I think you just helped me work through this: I will put up with the carp and just think of it financing our trip. Thank you.

Just a side thought here. The first time I ever went to WDW, I was a young adult. My parents never took us while we were children, and I'm sure that with the cost of airfare, hotel, tickets, food, etc., they would have never even considered it. Well, I survived quite nicely into young adulthood without ever going to WDW. Now, your child has already been blessed with a few trips, so it wouldn't be the worst thing if he/she had to maybe wait another year or two for the next visit.

What children want the most is a loving parent and a happy home. I strongly suspect that you deliver both of those on a consistent basis. I hate to see you miserable in your 2nd job, and think that your child would understand if you needed to consider quitting it for your sanity.

I might concede the last two pictures, but the first one is nothing if not manipulated to make the Swan look closer and larger. (did the same thing to the Eiffel Tower) There is no spot anywhere in Epcot that anyone is going to see what is in that picture without high power binoculars. The last two are much more subtle and, although shouldn't be seen, the reality is that it has never been severe enough to even catch my attention. What other people may or may not see, is not the point. It is that it isn't a terrible thing and doesn't harm the experience even a little.

Thank you, that was my point exactly!

Well, here's a little tidbit for you: both the Dolphin and the Swan statues, EACH weigh 60,000 pounds! So, I suppose it's not unreasonable to think that, being placed at the top of these two hotels, they'd stand out from a distance like sore thumbs. :p :D

By the way, I like both hotels: good rates, nice rooms, and excellent location. :)

I forgot to answer but we make cookie trays for friends and family for Christmas. Then we sell some on the side. :)

Oh, that's a nice gesture from the both of you. People like receiving homemade cookies.

I was intrigued by the fact that you also sell some. Is this done through a local store, or do you set up a lemonade stand-type of structure in front of your house, waving at the cars that go by, so that they'll stop and buy some?! :joyfull:

I am so stressed today. I'm thinking of quitting one of my jobs. As a single mom, I have held two jobs for the last seven years so that I could do things like taking my kids to WDW. One of my jobs (the prn job), is so poorly managed that it is so much stress and extra work to maintain than my full time job. Unfortunately, without it I can just say goodbye to WDW. (I don't receive child support for over 10 years).

A "like" for bein' a great mom and doin' the things you do for your kiddos, especially under the circumstances.
I've had as many as three jobs at a time before to help make ends meet, so I can relate, at least to that degree.
Keep up the good fight, and keep swimmin'...!

This has been a difficult pregnancy for my Cousin-in-law. They had a specific date set for the baby, which was today. She's already had two other kids. This has been her worst pregnancy. She's had to go to the chiropractor several times because of back pain. Last week, she started having contractions too early, so she went to the ER, but they didn't want her to have the baby just yet. She was going back and forth between C-section and inducing. Both girls were c-section, so she wanted to experience a natural birth. She's now saying two hours more, and if she hasn't progressed, she'll want a c-section. She was at 1 cm when she went in this morning. She is now at 3 cms. 11 hours later. Stubborn just like his father. We should have known

Prayers that all is well...

Our oldest was a week late, and starting to get pretty big. After carefully weighing all the options, we decided on the inducement. They started drippin' Pitocin at 7:30a, but, she wasn't born 'til 10:54 that night. They almost sent us home at one point in the evening 'cause DWifey was dilated only 4 cms. We (DWifey) chose to stick it out, but, 'cause mom and baby were both showing signs of tiring, in the end, they took us from the LDR to an actual delivery room to, as the Doc put it, "Grab 'er with the salad spoons." One little bruise on her cheek is all that left. Finally, 8 lbs. 8oz. of healthy baby girl...! :)

Probably because we are used to see each pavilion from up close.
looking in a upward angle and not straight to the horizon from the other side of the world showcase.
I actually wonder, if they could put fake tall trees to block the view.
But then, it will also look weird if these "trees" are as big as the faux Eiffel tower!

And, that's also why they use deterrents to keep birds from perching on the "Eiffel" tower...
They would ruin the forced perspective illusion. :)

I can sympathize. I don't get any at the moment either.

I was also late. 2 weeks late. If my mom hadn't gone into labor when she did, they would have induced the next day. Took 13 hours, but finally I decided to make an appearance. I was a stubborn baby. 2 weeks late, 13 hours of labor, and I wouldn't move my legs apart so that they could tell I was a girl. Two days before I was born, a nurse thought that I was a girl, but they weren't sure. This baby seems to be giving me a run for my money.

And yup, still no baby.

It can, so very many more times than we want, be such a fine line to walk. But, yes, ya' can't take care of your family if ya' don't take care of yourself, at the same time.
And yes, I do realize, easier said than done, too much of the time.

Speaking of which, we haven't heard from @Soarin' Over Pgh lately, I hope she is doing OK!

Hi!

I haven't been keeping afloat of any posts in chit chat and...well, most of the forum aside from news and rumors and even then, I'm woefully behind.

I'm just trying to keep it together and keep on keeping on with a smile on my face and a bounce to my step....no matter how bad it hurts under the surface.

I'll come back when I'm more together, settled, and able to keep up on these threads! But thanks for thinking of me. <3

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
After we were done shopping, we hopped on the monorail to Epcot, where we had parked in the a.m., which is what caused us to miss our first FP.

Tammy and I hopped in the SB line for SSE, while Mike took our purchases back to the car.
We were nowhere close to boarding by the time Mike got back, so we hopped out of line. Not once did we consider trying to let him butt - although we saw LOTS of that this week.

Headed over to the Seas. Rode lame Nemo, watched the manatees for a bit, then the fishies, then a photo with Bruce.

From there we went to the Land, said no thanks to 50 min SB on Soarin'.
Watched the slightly preachy Circle of Life film, and then rode Living with the Land.

Headed to WS, thought about getting some cronuts for brekkie. The problem is, I was still too full from our late lunch, do we skipped it. Come this morning though, and I was sad.

Toured all the shops in UK, before dropping another $150 in Japan. Did I mention that almost all my Christmas shopping is done?
