The damage to the garage has been repaired, the gutter replaced, and we managed to do so without disturbing the bird's nest with eggs in it or the birds

My step grandfather, who died at 99, was convinced he was never old; everyone else was. When he broke his hip, my dad said to him "Ya know, some people don't survive what you did." He said "Yeah, old people."
He was a trip; I miss him.

That doesn't go anywhere near the ocean. This is an extremely wide beach. The tide is also pretty extreme (about 6-8 feet difference between high and low tide sea level change).
