All Mexican restaurants at WDW now charge for chips and salsa. Most likely to blame are the guests who - due to some online “insider tip” (“How to eat cheap at Disney!!”) - went to those restaurants and only ordered drinks, no food. (“Hey, the chips and salsa are FREE guys!!”)

It’s the same reason California Grill went prix fixe (guests were ordering one appetizer or dessert - to share - and ordering nothing else, just to “watch the fireworks”). And why Be Our Guest no longer offers quick service breakfast or lunch (guests were ordering just a cupcake or two and helping themselves to the “free beverage station” - since cups were available there - so they could see “inside Beast’s castle”).

Abusers are typically the reason we can’t have nice things anymore (see “toppings bar” ).

I really hate "insiders" who makes these kind of tiktoks about "deals". And then companies get an onslaught of abusers and they ended adding so many walls to prevent this...

I really think it's unfair to the servers in that case. They often work their way up to those higher end restaurants and have to have extra experience/training. It's not like they put anyone in those restaurants. And then they get those idiots who come in and order basically nothing, and then it impacts their tips because those groups ordered less.

Not much of an insider but when I go to Chipotle I order with with extra everything . My bowl is so overflowing I can make the bowl into a another meal when I get home. There are You Tubers that explain how one can take advantage of eating at Chipotle. Also to save $$ at WDW one can order off the kids menu at quick service locations at the parks. The CM will not question if the meal is really for a kid.

Carolyn and Sarah are out looking at cars for Carolyn right now. I opted out, as most dealerships are closed today, so they won’t be hassled…I, on the other hand, always like the dancing/messing with the salesperson…!!!!!
With the price of even used cars these days, we should still be able to get a pretty good deal paying cash…!!!

Actually, I want to eventually be able to foster kitties. I see so many that need temporary fosters and I'm like, "I wanna help the poor baby." One recently came into the county shelter that is front declawed, and the owners complained she has litter box issues. AND they only cleaned the litter box TWICE A WEEK! The inner rage...

In the fine dining Mexican dining location at Epcot it takes longer for a family to eat and pay their bill since the complimentary chips and salsa were served then the entrees come later. The wait times to get table are much longer with guests such as ourselves that are waiting to get to eat , back in the day. With the elimination of the free stuff the tables are quicker to turn over for the next family to get to eat. When we were were there last we did not see one table that ordered just drinks and munched on the free chips and salsa. The fellow guests were ordering entrees .

Wow, never had an upcharge at a Mexican restaurant for chips and salsa, to start off a meal. (I wonder if there's more to it, in the pyramid. Maybe they're trying to discourage people from lingering a bit longer at their table, over chips & salsa, so that they can fit in more guests at dinnertime?)

Chili's does the up-charge now as well.

Paying cash is not as big an incentive for costing less anymore. They will take it and might drop the price whatever they planned in the first place, but they prefer to have you finance as it increases their bottom line if you finance through the dealer.
