Batch cooked and canned when everything is in season, not to mention cheaper to make it myself and I can control the salt so dh can eat it
I didn't know it was high in salt. Conflicting info. on Google about how salsa is good for high blood pressure, while other articles say it's too high in salt. 🤦‍♀️ (Maybe it just depends upon specific brands.)

Tomatoes and peppers are excellent but unless a salsa is labeled no added salt it's too high for a proper serving size not that itty bitty amount brands call a serving size, even "low sodium" isn't so low;)

By the time I was in high school, we'd gotten an upgrade...

I still have two of these lying around and refuse to use anything else. 😂

What’s funny is that, at around $25, the TI-30 was priced quite a bit less than other “scientific” calculators of the time.
Funnier yet, for decades now, we’ve been able to get cheapo calculators for what, about a $1.50…???!!!!! 🤣

I have a few bags of salsa that I made in the freezer, too bad we don't have any tortilla chips. Well, there is a handful of stale ones in a bag on the counter leftover from the Super Bowl. I like my homemade salsa better than jarred but I will get jarred when I run out of my frozen stuff. No canning for me, I watched my mom do it and it looked too complicated. I just helped with the prep work of canning. Actually making salsa is pretty easy, just chopping up some stuff, stirring together the stuff, and simmering on the stove for awhile.

The high pressure good thing is because the capcine if I remember correctly (aka the chiles). But the bad part is the salt.. XD
Store bought / restaurant salsa and salty chips is a recipe for a high sodium snack, appetizer which can lead to increase BP etc. When we go to our fav Mexican place we pass on the deep fried tortilla chips and salsa served table side.

We, on the other hand, get chips and salsa every time we go to any Mexican/Tex-Mex place. Not doing so would be like not getting a coupla’ mimosas or Bloody Mary’s at a brunch…!!!!! :hungry::hilarious:

Here you go! Tostitos also makes habanero salsa; so next time, this may save you some work in the kitchen! (I don't like hot pepper salsa, so I haven't tried it, but your boys might like it.) :)

I've learned the hard way that Tostitos isn't very good about not cross contaminating their salsa. I know they have at least one with pineapple in it, which means I can't eat any of their salsas. 🤦‍♀️ To be fair, pineapple is a rare allergy, but still. Chi chis is the safe salsa for me. I also buy pico that you can get at the grocery store because they don't use pineapple in that. Restaurants pretty much don't use pineapple in their salsas, so that is also safe. It's the thing you wouldn't even think about!

I liked it because it had the feel of a good old fashioned musical, and they just don't make those anymore. Plus although it's not the first Willy Wonka movie ever done, it felt original. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to watching it again.
I agree and if it had been the only Wonka movie it could have gone either way. It might have received a heap of praise with very few complaints or it might have done the same thing. Nice movie, not huge in the theaters though.

On an automotive note, my “free” ride finally bought the farm, after being 21+ years old…blown head gasket. Shop let me know yesterday afternoon. Estimated repair cost is 5-7K. Not gonna’ happen. I’ll now drive Carolyn’s Camry, and we’ll find her a newer ride.
The dude at the shop knows a guy who buys cars and fixes them up to sell. Should be able to get 1-1.5K for it. A junk yard probably wouldn’t even give me $500 for it.
Oh well, I definitely got my money’s worth outta’ that Malibu…!!! :)
