We're on a well
My friends have well water. During a power outage , they were out of luck. No power , and toilets , sinks, showers not working due to electricity or lack off powering the pump. My electricity was out but I could flush toilets , take showers, use sink water due to not being on well water.

Am sure you have a backup in case of power outage. Sensible as y'all are.
We very rarely have power outages, and when we do, they're usually very short, maybe for a couple of hours. The longest one we had in recent memory was mostly overnight. We had it by the next morning. Some people didn't have it for days; we were really fortunate.

You can still flush toilets once or twice with the water in the pipes, so we just save it for, ummm, when it's very necessary. Other than that, we have bottled water and hand sanitizer, and if we really need showers, there's always the gym.

The benefit is no water bill. You can take baths and long showers and not have to worry about a water bill. I don't recall a time in recent memory where we've had to worry about running the well dry either.

You're lucky to have a gym membership nearby -- that comes in handy for the showers.

If there is a power outage due to hurricanes , tropical storms , power overload, drunk guy crashing into power pole etc the local gyms in my area are all closed - no power.
But . . . but . . . StarWarsGirl's gym is open, and the showers are available. Perhaps her gym has a backup generator?

That would be nice, but when power goes at Planet Fitness , LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness etc in my neighborhood no generator in my area gyms and staff cease operation and goes home. The ones that have back up generators are the nursing homes and hospitals in my area.

Understanding neighbors are everywhere. Our family home has a 20KW whole house Generac generator powering the whole house. During a weeklong power outage we ran a long extension cord from our garage to an adjacent seniors neighbor garage which had their power strip . Our 90 year old neighbor with our electricity powered their fridge, lamps , microwave, charging their phone.

We are as well, no pun intended, or was it. Anyhoo I was reading about what filters you should have in your house to protect you from that and other issues. I think we're covered as we currently have 2 sediment filters, followed by 2 filters that are better than the "approved" level to protect your family and that's just on the main line. We also have the better filters under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. All the filters have a scheduled replacement time dh has mapped out on a chart and an entire shelf dedicated to filters which he buys in bulk.
My coffee always tastes good:joyfull:
