Heard some of the hurricane follows (somewhat) a loose track in proximity of Charlotte. Not sure how wide the storm will be, but make sure you have food, etc. and gas in your car. Hoping by the time it hits N.C. a lot of the storm will have died down considerably.
Lots of wind and of course rain. Not a lot structural damage in the area, a few trees, lots of branches other than that not much, but I lost power at 5pm last night and just got it back again a half hour ago. I also got some driven rain that came in under my walls. My apartment is on the ground level. I'm going to have a heart to heart with the property management on Monday. I had nothing to sop it up with except paper towels. Now that I have electricity again the ceiling fans are now working to dry the carpets. The paper towels kept it in a manageable amount but I don't want to have to deal with that again.

Sorry about the water mess you have to deal with but I'm glad it wasn't worse for you.

Have been watchin’ 2 EPCOT live streams from streamers that I like…one on my phone, the other on our living room TV.
One streamer currently has about 60 people watchin’, the other 3,400. :cyclops:
I wonder if the one with 3,400 is JOJO or the wdwmagic guy.

I do not remember if Kyle does..

But these 3 are of the most popular streamers right now.

The Tims' videos have gone downhill with their antics.

You got to be f.. kidding.e

Hurricane Orlene is expected to pass infront of us.. in the same day I'm leaving to Houston.
(This is probably the second time I had a delay thanks to hurricane lol when leaving my hometown).

Hopefully it will either remain as slow as current speed (which I do not believe, as almost all hurricanes somehow speed up after getting close) or speed up a lot so we're affected less.

I hope you can get to Houston without any issues! Is there any chance you can go in a few days early? unless that's for this weekend and in that case good luck!

Speaking of cynicism..

Blatant scam comment on facebook trying to scam my aunt to "recover her account".

Report it.

3 days later.. "This comment does not violate the community standard"

Then report a "sale" in a sales group that is a clear scam site, full of spyware under a based adult filled tricked JPG file.
"This comment does not violate the community standards".

Riight. And they wonder why META is going downhill revenue, user and value wise.

I'm on a FB group for Hersheypark passholders and it's like every other day that I see a Spam post. Fortunately their mods are pretty good about taking it down quickly, but it's super annoying.

Oh, and I follow People Magazine on Facebook. Without fail there's a spam comment on every article about how someone's relationship was saved by a witch doctor.

My bro over in Lexington, NC, told me this morning that they had maybe 35 mph gusts, and rain. His lights flickered last night, but his street did not lose power. He was lucky. Said he went out late this morning and just picked up twigs and small broken tree branches from his lawn, but that was it. Whew.

I think it just needs some caulking around the windows. I think it is forcing in on the side of the window frame and then going between the walls and dropping down to my floor level. It's strange cause I'm on the second floor officially, but the main entrance is on the first floor. Both are ground level as the building is built on a hillside so the back entrance is one floor higher then the ground level on the front entrance. So if I jump out of the window on the second floor it's only a 2.5 foot fall.

Our problem is that I live across the road from a state park and our power line goes through that park. That park has a lot of trees and they are forever falling over and taking the power line with it. This is the longest blackout though. They are usually not more than a couple hours. The biggest problem is that the road that separates us is a major highway with a lot of traffic light controlled intersections. When the power goes out a number of those intersections are a free for all, traffic wise. So a power outage results in a lot of sirens.
