Yikes! Were you evacuated? My best friend's husband lives in Fort Meyer and he was lucky enough to be in Greece for work when Ian hit, but now he can't get home because I guess the airport isn't open yet? He ended up flying to Denver. (My best friend stayed in Denver so her daughter didn't have to change schools...again. They had JUST moved back from Australia and they were told they wouldn't have to move again, and then the first thing the company did was send him to Florida right away, so she stayed in Denver and they visit each other once a month or so.) He has no idea if his apartment or car survived.
From what little we've been able to see Ft Myers got hit worse than us. It's very good he was in Greece!!

Flight was fairly empty. No issues.

The hotel charged me $50 extra to check in at 10:30AM. If I had waited until noon, it would have been $25. Normal check-in is 3PM. Never heard of anyone doing this before. Hesitated to post it where someone from Disney might get ideas!

But she was very nice and gave me a $10 bar/food voucher and upgraded my room.

There is definitely an equine & bourbon theme.

I don’t know what a word search has to do with horseys, but this guy hangs in the bathroom:

There was no one in the middle seat going to the UK but coming home was the same for one side but the other had someone sitting next to me.
There was no one in the middle seat when I went to Houston from BWI when going to Hawaii. It was supposed to be a full flight; that person failed to show up.

Then for my Houston to HNL flight and reversed I was in first class.

Then from Houston to BWI I was the person in the middle seat. At least it was an exit row.

Really looking forward to autumn, with cooler, refreshing temperatures, and colorful leaves in the trees, etc. 🥰 It was 49 degrees when I got up today (around 4 AM).

Took a walk in the wooded nature trails, and the squirrels were very active -- starting to gather up their stash of nuts for the winter. (Oh, @King Racoon 77 , are you and your fellow raccoons also busy this fall, or do you wait until next month to get your act together? :joyfull: )

So we have no heat downstairs right now because there's an issue with the furnace. It's absolutely freezing everywhere in the house...except for my room for some odd reason. So guess where the cats are?

10 bucks says Jasmine will be standing on me in the middle of the night.
OMG NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The heat going out is the absolute worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there any chance either of the parental units can figure out what's wrong? If not I hope you can get somebody to fix it tomorrow!
Only 10?
btw the chair still does not belong to you;)

The good thing about having heavy computer hardware is.. you do not need a furnace for that room :p

They had a repair guy out last week when it was warmer, and he said it needed a new part. We did not anticipate that it would get cold like this. My dad has a space heater running in the family room; my room is warm, and the other bedrooms are somewhat warm.

It's so sad....it seems like they missed a huge opportunity. I mean, merch is all well and good, but to not even really acknowledge the day in Harmonious or anything...no special snacks or performances. Do something special and you'll attract even more people who will then spend more money on that special stuff. You're shooting yourself in the foot to do nothing.

It was indeed pretty sad.
I was 19 days shy of my 20th b-day when EPCOT Center opened. My first visit wasn’t until Dec. of ‘88 on our honeymoon. The Norway pavilion was brand spankin’ new, and I fell in love with the whole park. Carolyn had first visited in ‘83, with her younger sis’ and uncle, before I met her.
All of the original attractions were still there back in ‘88…World of Motion, Horizons, Universe of Energy, The Seas, The Land, and the Journey into Imagination Pavilion. Plus, Maelstrom at the World Showcase Norway pavilion, etc.
The Wonders of Life pavilion didn’t open until Oct. of ‘89.
Also, Disney-MGM Studios didn’t open until May of ‘89, and AK not until about a decade later, so there was only MK and EPCOT Center to visit.
Such wondrous, original, attractions back then, but, now, all mostly goin’ to IP hell. What a joke.
Maybe they’ll have somethin’ better for the EPCOT Center (😉) 50th…?!?!?!
Nahhh…
They’ll just probably fly a giant plane full of horse stuff over the Park and drop it on all the suckers below, who’ll then just dance in it, and declare it “Magical”…!!!!!!! :joyfull: :D :hilarious:;)
