Just when I thought it was safe to remove a layer of fleece
What do you mean "back then"?You were as cute as a button back then!
Your barracks (or whatever they called your building) needed some interior decorating -- pictures on the walls would have been nice, and maybe a few decorative pillows for the bunks. But I suppose in basic training they don't want to have any on-site distractions at all for the soldiers. Oh well.
I guess the only alternative, in that case, is to pass the test and after that work on personally staying alive along with the lives of others. I guess the philosophy is "let them die, that will teach them a lesson".Yeah, and it's frowned on here. My first instructor point blank told me that what I was doing was called "defensive driving" and that if I drove like that in my road test, I'd fail. You are supposed to assume that everyone is going to follow the rules and do things the right way, and then react quickly if they don't. You aren't supposed to anticipate potential issues....you react when they actually happen. I'd see someone on a bike pulling up to a light, but not slowing down much, and I'd brake because it looked like they were going to run the red light and dart out in front of me. "Why are you braking?" "Because I didn't think that biker was going to stop." "You have a green light which means HE has a red light and has to stop. Is it likely that he's going to go across there without looking or signaling?" "Well, I saw a woman die because she turned without looking or signaling and she got hit by a car. A lot of bikers don't look or signal." "Well, if you drive like that in your road test, you'll fail. You're too cautious. If you have the right of way, you have to assume everyone else will yield for you."
Yeah....because no one ever got in an accident because someone didn't want to give the right of way. Totally safe.
Oops! Let me rephrase that --What do you mean "back then"?

Far more accurate.Oops! Let me rephrase that --
" . . . back then, and nothing has changed."
Better?
There is nothing wrong with @MinnieM123. There others that like snow and cold too. There is a small city in Wisconsin that has a snow festival next month along with a snow parade. That is not a typo, the small city has a snow parade and a snow festival in July.To several mental health facilities
You can have all those anchovies. Yuck.
