I'm hiding in my blanket fort for the weekend. It's Carnaval weekend, and they just lifted all the restrictions as of last night. It was completely dead at work....we were getting about 60 orders per hour....it hasn't been that slow in like a decade!! Everyone must have been out partying now that no masks are required, no QR codes necessary, no time restrictions, everything is open, and it's a big party time. I went to get notebooks for E on Wednesday and the Centrum was PACKED with people shopping for their carnaval costumes. I'm going NOWHERE this weekend.

The "official" total for my area was 10.7 inches. I never pay much attention to the official amount though--sure looked like a foot outside yesterday. It was really pretty by the way! :)

I shoveled for quite a while, and the guys across the street came over with their mini-tractor and removed a big section out in the front for us. As usual, we contacted the landlord to see when his (as usual, MIA, private plow guy) was coming by for the driveway -- the guy showed up at 8:00, last night! 🤦‍♀️

Luckily, we didn't need to go anywhere yesterday anyway, and there was also a flash freeze late yesterday afternoon, into evening.
The like was for the neighbor with the mini tractor

@Dead2009 , I read this cringe-worthy news the other day. Hoping your Target doesn't sign on to this newest delivery option. (I think it's enough that the workers deliver items to cars outside, but also picking up/delivering cups of coffee, etc., is a bit too much, IMO.)

I can't see it happening at our local Targets as both has drive through/curbside Starbucks in the same parking lot. It would make more sense to pick up the curbside order and then the coffee to insure freshness. If I'm having coffee out I don't want it made and sitting around.
Having done curbside many, many times over the past couple of years IMHO having an order pulled will screw up the timing of getting people in and out of the p/u area.

I'm hiding inside as well. We got about 2 inches of sleet pellets, it's cold and the wind is still blowing. Tonight's dinner groundhog hash.

There's a Starbucks with a drivethru in the same shopping center as my Target, but the drivethru isnt finished yet. Hopefully when it's done, the traffic and orders wont be as bad.

Just thought I'd share this photo taken earlier this week, after Storm Franklin, of the main road from the town centre to where I live at the top of town. It's one way too, so no way to turn around, but, fortunately the police put in diversions and it took a bit longer to get home. I usually walk up there, couldn't even do that. The wall is several hundred years old and surrounds the old hospital I was born in, not hundreds of years ago i may add. d382c5a779d6624f1f55a0498cbbf15a.jpg

There's a large Target in my area, and a stand-alone Starbucks store (with a drive-up window) in the same parking lot. (Parking lot area is huge.)

Now, also INSIDE Target is -- a Starbucks coffee shop. Hence, I'm really wondering if Target will include coffee delivery to curbside, despite the fact that the other Starbucks drive-through, is so close to Target., in same parking lot Nothing would surprise me though. :cautious:
