Some pics from Christmas Day at MDE&A’s…!!!
Loving all these festive Christmas photos (plus the ones following this first post)!!

Lotta presents under that tree! :jawdrop: :joyfull:

The two girls get more adorable every day. Really like the picture of DWifey getting her nails painted, at Emy's Nail Salon! :p

By the way, trying to figure out what the Chritmas gift was for your son. Looked like wheels on it, but hard to see what the actual item was, so I'm curious.

Glad you and the family had a nice time together. As for your parents, at least you all could visit them, albeit socially distanced, the day following. I"m sure they loved seeing everyone there, and that's what is important. :)

Thanks, Minnie…!!! :)

Yes, there were A LOT of presents…!!!

I was hopping someone would comment on “Emy’s Nail Sslon”…before we got there, Emy insisted on doin’ Daniel’s nails. He tried to get her to do his toes, but, she wanted to do his fingers…one hand hot pink, the other turquoise…!!!!! :hilarious:

That present for Matthew is a small piece of rolling luggage.
We’re heading to Ruidoso, New Mexico for a few days next month…!!! :)

And, yes, just being able to visit my folks at all is indeed the most important thing…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

You would enjoy a program hosted by Todd Fisher who roadtrips all over the country in search of eating porky goodness. His reality show is called the United States of Bacon. I think there is a bar in Philly that instead of the bartender giving you a bowl of peanuts with your beer , you get a bowl of crispy bacon strips.

Although I don’t suffer from them, no peanut allergies to worry about there, and I’ve never heard of a bacon allergy, so that’s a winner all the way around…!!!!! :hilarious:

I’m off today, but, Carolyn has to work, but, is off on Monday.
If Christmas Day and New Years day fall on a Saturday, we get the Thursday and Friday before Christmas Day off and the Friday before New Years Day off. If they fall on a Sunday, we get the following Monday and Tuesday, and following Monday off, respectively.
Not sure what’s up with her company, but, she had last Monday off too…?!!!!! :cyclops::hilarious:

It is taking in more air than is 100% efficient. I am not doing anything at this time. No need for further posts on that topic 😉
Not for any advice but I had a (don't remember the year, 19 something) Dodge Caravan that check engine engaged at 60K miles. It was an auto setup to get me to go to the dealer and pay massive money that I didn't have to have them check the anti-pollution stuff. Really important now, but wasn't consider so back then. I couldn't get them to shut it off, which they could have, so I took apart the dash and physically pulled the actual light bulb out, put the dash back together and left myself wide open to not know if anything else went bad. I got lucky and put another 120K miles on it before I sold it, in good running condition, to someone else. Ah, the things we got away with in our youthful ignorance.

I remember 1999, but I didn't party in 1999 either though. Media overplaying the Y2K apocalypse that year claiming computer problems.

I attended a NASCAR Race that Casey Atwood was the youngest driver to win a race in NASCAR history at the time.

I know columbine happened that year. A couple weeks after Columbine, I recalled a student did a creative essay for class in college. I am not going to mention exactly because the nature of what I recalled easily can into politics.

I was a pro wrestling fan in 1999 and one of my favorite wrestlers died from equipment failure that happened 78 feet in the air and fall down in the ring:(. I am referring to Owen Hart. His family lost a husband, parent, and brother. What happened was someone in the WWE wanted Owen Hart be lowered in the ring use a harness instead of going into the ring normally. That meant the plan was for Owen to go from the rafters in the arena and be lowered down into the ring while using a safety harness.

I watched the Phantom Menace and South Park: the movie the theater that year.
We had a Y2K party on the 1st. My wife made a cake shaped like a bug that was very cute. It, of course was the Y2K bug. Had all family and in-laws at the house. I have to admit it was a fun start to a year that was awful for me personally. But my computer still worked!

I recall that the tons of salt sprayed on the roads can wreck havoc on your under body of the car and rust out the body.

They use sand by us.

Same here.
First off, the ribbons of salt sprayed on roads previous to the storm are as useless as a milk pail under a bull. Around here in NC they do it the day before. In the meantime it dries on the road and car traffic blows most of it off, then being in the south it usually rains before it snows so it washes whatever remains on the road off the road.

Any amount of snow, of a half inch and above completely paralyses the place. We used a lot of salt in Vermont. If a storm was forecast the plows loaded with actual salt crystals and light sand mix were stationed at the main state highways waiting. Local communities did the same so when it did storm, be it snow or even freezing rain the crews met it head on. It had to be a massive nor'easter to stop anything in Vermont. Here in NC it is pathetic. The ground never really freezes here, at least to any depth) so the roads are usually clear before long, but frozen bridges are a problem. What they would do is make cars exit, cross over to the entrance on the other side of the bridge. That was good for a very massive traffic jam. It used to make me want to scream. GET A PICKUP, PUT SAND IN IT AND A COUPLE OF SHOVELS AND THROW SAND ON THE DAMN BRIDGE. Also they wouldn't ever put the plows out until the storm had left and was by then in another state or over the ocean. Please don't tell me they couldn't get to work because of the storm, they couldn't get to work because they waited until it was over before even trying. There is a reason why there is an auto body repair shop about every 100 feet all it takes is light rain around here to see just how unskilled drivers are around here.

I know that living in Vermont afforded a lot of opportunity to learn how to drive in ice and snow. However, you never learn how to if you don't try. With what should be obvious by now is that we are having a major change in climate on the entire planet that we need to be prepared for everything. (Please stop referring to it as Global Warming, this is much more extensive than that and the worst is yet to come.) We can survive it as soon as we stop denying it is happening. Look what happened in Texas last year simply because no one expected it and when it came, no one knew what to do or how to do it. One cannot be prepared for everything. I remember a major ice storm in Vermont and Quebec back in the 1990's that brought us to our knees as well, but we at least had some basics in place to survive. If we as a allegedly intelligent life form could stop trying to prove who is right, scientists that spend their life learning about climate patterns or an Uber driver we just might adapt in time to save our foolish skin!
