I think part of the problem with our Walmarts is that we're too close to Baltimore City and we get the riff raff from down there. They are always a total mess. I went to a Walmart up in PA on my way to Hershey (that's where I got the waterproof phone pouch; I regretted it because the thing leaked) and it was better. The ones I've been in in SC have been nicer too. Although even one I went to out in Cecil County near where one of my friends lives didn't feel particularly safe or clean, and that's way far away from the city, so idk. She says she doesn't feel safe shopping there at night.

Targets are never that way (and I have checked them all out around here...)
The one by me is really nice, but I have been told the one in Swatara, (near Hershey), is the worst one anywhere.

Our Shop Rite in town is short staffed as well. NJ keeps extending the unemployment benefits. People rather collect "free money" than go out and earn it.
There are naturally numerous exceptions...but in general I think it can't be denied that there are perfectly healthy and able bodied people who are just taking advantage of the situation.
Every store/restaurant where I live has help wanted signs. Our Panera is not even taking online orders currently and they shortened their hours cause they cannot find people that want to work. I do think that in July people do have to start looking for work in order to collect unemployment. Hopefully these businesses can find people.

It was so darn crowded. We got there at 10 for passholder early open and it was crowded! It was so quiet the Friday of July 4th weekend.
Yesterday wasn't bad for a Saturday. The forecast I think kept a lot of people away. We got there and didn't even need B's pass to get on Candymonium, then we did Super Dooper Looper, then I took the kids on Comet with the pass because my aunt couldn't do that one, but it didn't have much of a line. We had to use it for several things and because it only lets four people in at a time, B got a few double rides. But a lot of things we didn't need it for.

I noticed something today in the Walmart closest to me. They cannot seem to stay stocked. Since I try to keep active I keep my shopping lists short and might go to some store every morning just to keep the joints working. I used to live in Cary, NC which is just a few miles from where I currently live. That one is extremely well run and is always fully stocked. Then there is one between me and that Cary one. That is a nice store too but it is a much smaller one. It is nice but doesn't carry the stuff that I want. Then there is the HUGE one about 3 miles from me. The store is clean, but they apparently cannot keep the shelves stocked. Most of the things that I buy are just basic food items. nothing fancy, but I can go three of four times over two weeks and many of the same items are missing. I think that one has a management problem. It is in a nice area and seems to be busy all the time, but not overwhelmingly busy. It started downhill about the same time as the Pandemic, but how long can they blame that on Covid when the other stores are carrying the same stuff.
