Speaking of high level airports. There is a lot of anger because some authorities want to build an airport next to Machu Pichu. Which is already overhelmed by tourism.
I've not been to Peru but my aunt has been to Peru and Machu Pichu. Both La Paz Bolivia and MP are really high up in the clouds and chewing the juice from the coca leaves and drinking coca tea sold everywhere is necessary to combat altitude sickness.

There are benefits to homeschool;) My kids are also past the silly little thing phase:joyfull: They've moved on to the expensive electronics phase:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: :banghead: and have I ever mentioned my food bill:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
Let them save money to buy all their own electronics. They want a nicer phone? They are welcome to buy one with their own money. They can do the research to pick one out that has the things they want, and then get it. Same with gaming systems. Or get them gift cards for a certain amount and they can put that towards what they want. $50 for lego sets or $50 for electronics...doesn't make a difference. It's $50 regardless, and anything beyond that is up to them to earn.

I DO remember it being advertised that you could do that, and even my technologically-inclined self couldn't ever get it to work.
Then my next question is if you or anyone know on Hulu Plus live does the DVR after watching a show, can you delete the show? Or does it have to drop off by itself?

I am presently with Spectrum and disgruntled at bill. But I am looking at Hulu Plus Live. Not sure how the DVR works. I also have Amazon Prime. How does Hulu compare?

Easter is much less than that per kid;)

My first job after I was discharged from the service was manager of a Ben Franklin Store. In that capacity I was first exposed to the fact, at the time, that Easter was the 2nd biggest Retail rush after Christmas. I never knew that. Our family never gave Easter gifts. We had limited candy mostly hidden around the house (inside). And a big Easter Breakfast mostly to celebrate the end of Lent. I guess it carried through with my kids as well because they have never done the gift giving Easter thing. It was always a family gathering, but just for a meal. I can only say that I must have led a sheltered life. Do most of the rest of you folks make it a gift exchange event?
I've never heard of giving gifts for Easter...except maybe a stuffed bunny in the easter basket maybe. But that's the extent of it. My mom used to make chocolates and these sugar eggs that were hollow inside and then you could put either a religious scene or easter bunny scene inside of it.

She obviously didn't make this one, but this is what hers looked like.

She would make a bunch and she'd take those little green plastic containers for strawberries,

and use them as baskets with one of the sugared eggs, and some chocolates in them, and we'd leave them in people's cars on Easter morning so they'd get them when they went to church. That was the closest we came to giving gifts for Easter.

Nobody in my house eats candy and my kids are older so they each get a small gift card or movie for Easter. This year is gift cards. My dh is getting a electronic thingy and I'm getting an LED lamp that I was going to get this month anyway

Hubby and I actually watch stuff on Prime quite frequently. We're thinking about switching from a ton of paid cable channels to Hulu Live, too...I still need to compare the channel lineups.

I have no clue about the DVR portion of Hulu...didn't even know that was a thing!

My MIL was basically a crap parent who bought off her kids by spoiling the carp out of them on holidays...keeping things small and manageable (not to mention reasonable) is an ongoing battle for me. :banghead:

Yup! That's how we do it. Unless it's Christmas or their birthdays...they can do extra chores or help out their grandparents to earn some money!

That was just a random number....$5 bucks towards legos is the same as $5 bucks towards electronics. A bought his own nintendo switch and his own phone. E bought her own tablet and her own phone. We did get them each a laptop because we were tired of not getting to use OUR laptops when the kids had presentations to work on...like power point presentations, or a report to write, etc. As they got older, there was more stuff they had to do on a computer, so it just made sense to get them laptops. And now with remote learning, they use those every day so it was a really good investment! They are so much luckier than a lot of their classmates who have to share with siblings when all of them need the computer at the same time. But all the other electronics they had to save up for and buy themselves.

I am still very happy with my 7plus. Must be going in 4 years with it.

As I’ve posted before, I’ve always been at least 2 iPhone generations behind, until recently. The camera and the battery life alone with the 12 Pro Max made it worth it to me. I used to have to charge my 8+ every day, or less. It’s been about every 2.5 days with this phone, but, I’m sure that’ll be different during our upcoming Nov. WDW trip...definitely glad I got the 256 gigs of memory with it though, too...!!!!! :hilarious:

Except one little thing that many do not know.

Iphone's cpus and gpus are so small its gates are very delicate. They would fry the moment they get space radiation.
That is why even modern rockets of NASA still relied in old 486,-386 and XT intel chips.

I still even remember a few years ago how NASA scientists were in dismay because they could not find replacement for those chips and they had to browse EBAY!!!

I would not be surprised if the newer rockets do have better electronics but with way better materials.

Example of resilience (pretty sure these are POWER PCs IBM processors.

:hilarious:
Interesting, but, I was just referring to power in general, and nothing to do with non-earth atmospheric/space travel...!!! :)
