Does anyone know/remember if you have cable tv and have a vcr, can you tape a program but go to a different channel at the same time?

Thanks for the help.

You're asking me?? Haven't a clue! :p It's called the iphone SE 2nd Generation. With whatever service bundle plan hubs has, he put in for a new phone when my battery was dying (in my previous phone, a few months ago). Their prices were reasonable for this one. (Keep in mind all I do with it is just basic Google searches, and I rarely even use it as a phone, unless I'm out somewhere.)

So the more recent (higher number generation) phones with the bells and whistles, would just be a waste of money for my very limited usage. I far prefer my computer at home for any and all other functions I use. :)

:hilarious:
I think you quoted the wrong post ;), but, we’re totally opposite in that regard. My iPhone is my phone, my computer, my camera, my camcorder, my clock, etc. Even the earlier iPhones had more computing power than the Space Shuttle, and it’s all in the palm of my hand...!!!!!

Check out this little tidbit about even your iPhone 6...!!! :)

The last I heard was that the name was rented out, but the company that was the franchiser went out of business. I went to Baltimore to visit the establishment shortly after I was hired. I stayed doing that for two years until a person that I bought advertising from asked me to go work for him. The stores were franchises but had to buy all but oddities through the main warehouse. A couple of the bigger stores in Vermont stayed in business for a while, but the Ben Franklin connection was eventually just the name. Owners basically just stocked their stores from local wholesalers. When I was manager it was really more of a variety store. We even had clothing! Most went out when drug stores started to stock the same items as small variety stores did. Later most went to the Arts and Craft route. They were doing well, but still ended up going out because the big brand stores were able to under price them. I'm sure that the Baltimore connection was probably just the east coast section, I don't have a clue if it is still active anyplace else. I'm pretty sure that Walmart had a hand in the demise of the small variety stores.
So, the Ben Franklin in my WI hometown, just closed last year, because the owner was ready to retire. There is another one still operating in Ironwood, MI, way up in the Upper Peninsula. Very different than any other Ben Franklin I have been in, because it is mostly tourist items for sale. And things to decorate you north woods cabin.

Anyone price out lamb recently? I half thought I might buy a small piece (just two of us at dinner) for Easter, as lamb is traditional, from what I've read. (Actually, I never cooked a lamb before--only lamb chops a few times.)

So today I went to the store and nearly fainted at the prices!!! :jawdrop: I mean, they were charging around $30.00 and up.

To heck with tradition -- I bought pork chops instead, for $2.37. :hilarious:
Yes. Brisket for dinner! Lamb was crazy, and didn't even look very good.

She's contacted them before and said it was horrible (my guess is because she literally knows absolutely nothing about anything technical, and Xfinity's techs aren't great at dealing with people who are out of touch). I wish my cousins (her 3 kids) would get off their lazy butts and help her - they live WAY closer (I'm a couple of hours away).

I get the lack of understanding...I really do. Technology advances so quickly and our older peeps are at a disadvantage to begin with because the big leap occurred (roughly) half-way through their lives, so they're constantly playing catch-up. (It feels odd to say this as I'm coming up on 50 myself!) My mom has a huge advantage, since she knows I'm just a phone call or short drive away, and I've taught her a bunch (just enough to get into major trouble, lol), and she's managed to hang onto a lot of what I taught her...with a quick phone call to me to refresh anything she forgets or to help her troubleshoot.

I'm doing a lot of playing detective for my aunt...she lives in a room she rents from a friend and accesses the internet on her phone...she doesn't have a lot of money, and with the issues she had with the tablet in the past, I'm thinking she doesn't actually have internet service in her name and is accessing the internet via cellular service on her phone. Adding to this suspicion is that she assumed connecting to the internet would be automatic (no login required for a first-time connection on a new device).

I may give my mom a ring later and see if she wants to go visit her sister (my aunt) in the next week or so we can get this sorted out.

My mom and pop are 81 and 88, respectively, but, are pretty tech-savy, for the most part. Pop worked for IBM for 27 yrs. before he retired at age 62.
He started out wearin’ a 3-piece suit, then it was a white short-sleeved dress shirt and slacks, and then, towards the end, jeans and a sport shirt...!!!!! :hilarious:
Anyhoo, my youngest bro has been workin’ IT for the state down at the Capitol for almost 30 years now, so he helps them with anything they might get behind on, and our SonIL (Daniel) helps from time to time, as he is IT at FB...!!! :)

As I said, I don't know what happened other then the east coast. My hunch is that since the parent company went out of business there is no one there to complain about the name being used and the ex-franchisee's are still using it but buying their stock from independent wholesalers. But, I can't honestly say that I really know what happened with the whole situation. I left the store in 1974. That was quite a while ago. I kept in touch with a couple of people that were part of my staff, but not very long.

I visited La Laz, Bolivia the highest city above sea level . Flying into the airport it was 12K above sea level. Drinking coca tea helped with altitude sickness. I also bought Alpaca sweaters for my mother. It is the softest fabric I have ever felt. It makes cashmere look rough. I also ate alpaca steak in a restaurant. Nothing to write home about, it was very lean, no fat and not much flavor.
Speaking of high level airports. There is a lot of anger because some authorities want to build an airport next to Machu Pichu. Which is already overhelmed by tourism.

Except one little thing that many do not know.

Iphone's cpus and gpus are so small its gates are very delicate. They would fry the moment they get space radiation.
That is why even modern rockets of NASA still relied in old 486,-386 and XT intel chips.

I still even remember a few years ago how NASA scientists were in dismay because they could not find replacement for those chips and they had to browse EBAY!!!

I would not be surprised if the newer rockets do have better electronics but with way better materials.

Example of resilience (pretty sure these are POWER PCs IBM processors.
