Too funny...!!!!! :hilarious:
There are 2 time markers I have for Sunday’s...12p and 6p (unless Monday happens to be a Holiday, then it gets switched to Monday...!!!!! :D).
12p, oh crap half the day is gone, and 6p oh crap, about 4 hours ‘til bedtime, and then a short sleep until back to the grind.
Again, I love my job, but, it ain’t even close to no cake walk...!!!!! :hilarious:

I love sweet potatoes. Sweet potato casserole is one of the traditional dishes my parents have for Thanksgiving.

I also like sweet Potato fries with Marshmallow dipping sauce. Sweet Potato fries with Marshmallow dipping sauce is one of the foods I traditionally look forward to having at Door County. Door county has a bbq Restaurant located in Egg Harbor that has that as an appetizer.

This year though, I am not going to Door County. The trip is delayed till next year.

Yep, sweet potato casserole is something that’s traditional down here, as well. Sweet potatoes, marshmallows, brown sugar, etc. Generally, too sweet/rich for me, but, again, I’ll eat it in a pinch.
My Pop loves it, along with rice pudding...!!! :)

A few shots from today’s hike. Started by the lake at Greenbrier State Park. 4F7BEB05-9850-434C-845C-249ED2BD4944.jpeg
Then up a VERY steep access trail to the AP. It was about half a mile and 1000ft elevation change. Yikes. Very pretty flora on the way up. D8C6769D-1130-4A96-9EDC-9FA27B8D9097.jpeg

Pretty close to the midway point of the Appalachian Trail.

Got to a pretty nice view.

About 4 miles along from our start. Took about 2 hours, but that first half mile was almost an hour. Another great view looking back - you can see the lake where we started in the distance.

4 miles back - and the painful downhill really beat up my bad knees. But a great hike and good to get out for 4 hours with nature!

It isn't the format that I am angry with, it is the CEO that has me upset. Whatsapp is owned by Facebook.
How about Skype? I don't think that's owned by facebook and it's just a messaging system. You can create groups within it so you could have a family group, a sibling group, a neighbor group, etc, or chat individually and there is text chatting as well as video chatting available. I used it when I was in the states and my kids and husband were here, so I could sing to the kids before bedtime each night, and I also use it to chat with friends who don't have facebook.

There's also Google hangouts, but I've never used that, so I'm not sure what the capabilities are, but I know there is a chat feature.

Beautiful!! Why was the first half mile so long? Was it just because you were stopping to take pictures, or is that the most difficult part of the hike?

@MySmallWorldof4 , do you have netting around your plants? I really don’t want to do that, the berry bushes are on the side of my deck, the rest of the veggies run down the length of the side of the house, I don’t have a legit garden area... I used areas where I plant flowers every year.

This garden thing was too much time and money to feed the animals, I’m not as nice as dryerlintfan.lol. If it doesn’t work this year, then I’m not planting again!
We put chicken wire around our planting bed previously because groundhogs were getting to our vegetables.

The rapid incline in half a mile makes for pretty slow hiking. It was also was a pretty poor trail - almost entirely rocks and brush and very little actual path (luckily the blazes were well marked, otherwise it would have been very easy to lose it). Usually the first part and last park of the hike are the fastest for me - the first and last mile tend to be about 20 minutes each and then those in between are closer to 30 minutes. This hike was pretty much the opposite with that first and last half mile taking almost an hour each and the middle 6 miles being just a little above 20 minutes each. We had initially planned to do almost another 2 miles, but knowing the hill we would have work down at the end we turned around a bit early. I'm most likely just a few years away from at least one knee replacement (if not both) so hills are not friends!

What a beautiful view!

It really was quite nice. Had we done the other 2 miles we had planned on, there would have been another view that is just as (if not a little more) excellent. The moral of this adventure...

We had never taken this access path to the AT and couldn't find it's difficulty level anywhere online, so we assumed it was most likely at the 'moderate' level or maybe a little higher or lower than that...don't assume, you know what it does! I did finally find a site with some reviews and ratings of just this access trail (most reviews lump it in with a section of the AT, so you don't know exactly what is getting reviewed) late last night and it isn't entirely accurate (start point elevation is quite a bit off), but it does rate it as a 'difficult' or 5/6 on their difficulty scale, while the AT in that area is a 'moderate' or 3/6 in that area. My days of doing 'difficult' and 'very difficult' rated hikes are mainly behind me... ;)

Hubs and I have hiked various trails (in the Northeast and also in Colorado), over the years.

To me, the most important tool to have is an USGS topographical map. When those little separation lines (of elevation) come very close to one another -- look out. That will guarantee a more difficult climb.

Anyway, glad that you and your family had a nice day, and thank you for sharing your photos. :)

Whatsapp sold out to Facebook which made it better before. As much as I don't like Facebook, it's the only way sometimes to keep people in your life. I don't have a lot of friends to begin with on the site but if I went on a purge due to recent events and people being too much to handle, I would be left with very little.
