We are actually getting some 90's in Pennsylvania this week. I am looking forward to it.
I have a hard time with the heat. I've always had a hard time, but I think it's worse since moving here because we get so little of it. Last year, there was a heat wave where it was over 100 for days, and in the high 90s for weeks...while we were in Florida. The good thing is we had Air Co in Florida and wouldn't have here. But heat will give me a headache, make me feel nauseated and weak...I actually passed out during softball practice when I was about 10.

But I've noticed it's getting steadily warmer each summer here. When I first moved here, anything over about 25C was pretty warm, and there was almost never a temp higher than 30C for more than a day or 2 and then it would go back to the low to mid 20s. The last few years here have seen weeks of 35C and above. The kids go to school until July, and I remember the last few weeks when E was in 3rd grade were sooooo warm. Most schools in the Netherlands closed because of the heat since there's no AC. E's teacher posted a picture of their classroom temperature at 44.3C. The principal refused to do what pretty much every other school in the country did, closing or reducing the hours. Some started early so they could be done before the hottest part of the day. But our principal refused and just said to let the kids have water in their classes. There was a very angry parent who brought popsicles to all the kids in his childrens' classes to at least give them some relief.

Ever since that year except I think one year, we've had heat waves and last Summer while we were in Florida, E kept in touch with her friends and the weather was hotter here in the Netherlands than it was in Florida, which never used to happen. I was glad I was where they have AC, but I am dreading this Summer!!

It's weird, but one side effect of me having no thyroid is that I have less tolerance for heat and more tolerance for cold. I got heat sick in WDW last year. I've never once been heat sick before. I used to have mega tolerance for the heat. I was like, whelp, guess this is a new thing for me.

But then my asthmatic lungs didn't get the memo. See, they're 100% fine in the heat. Some asthmatics have trouble in the heat, and I never have. I still have issues with the cold. B and I walked to DHS to do Rise of the Resistance one morning at WDW in February. It being Florida, it was 45 degrees that morning but warmed up to 80 that afternoon. My lungs were not the least bit happy about the 45 degrees. The rest of me was fine about it.

B and I went to the trail again on Saturday with my friend. It was in the 80s. We got out there, and I was like, "It's a tad warm." My friend was like, "This is your favorite weather." Apparently not anymore. I preferred when it was closer to 75 for walking. At least the trail is shady and near water. I need to remember to bring a second water bottle next time, though.

Nope. Nope.

They go beyond a childhood dislike for me. I have disliked them since I was a baby. My mother tried to feed them to me and I spat them out. I tried chilli at a cook-off at work that everyone was saying was good, and I thought it was terrible...I found the offending food. It was sweet potatoes. I have tried it in different forms...that stuff is nasty.
I'm not sure you can trace back a dislike beyond when one was a baby. That is the epitome of childhood. It's OK, a lot of people, myself included, hate liver. Not to many wars have started over that type of thing except between parents and children. ;)

I try and keep up with social media as much as I can, but my scope is limited. Right now I am very upset with the creator of one of the first heavily used discussion/friend sites and would like to leave it. The problem is I don't know of any others that do the same thing allowing me to just communicate with family and long time friends with the same degree of quality. Any suggestions? I don't want the ones that include live feeds, I am not photogenic enough to be seen constantly, plus I don't have a camera on my computer, just my phone and I don't want to use that for everyday information. Just a localized messaging program.

I never liked sweet potatoes growing up, but I eat them all the time now. For me it's a texture thing. I don't like them when they're mushy mush but I love sweet potato fries and stuff like that and I put them in my chili and breakfast hashes
I cannot eat them mushy either. I think sweet potato casserole is gross.

You can use Whatsapp if you just want to communicate with friends and family. It is not like facebook with a feed. It is basically a texting board that you can make groups on. You can share pictures and videos on it.

@MySmallWorldof4 , do you have netting around your plants? I really don’t want to do that, the berry bushes are on the side of my deck, the rest of the veggies run down the length of the side of the house, I don’t have a legit garden area... I used areas where I plant flowers every year.

This garden thing was too much time and money to feed the animals, I’m not as nice as dryerlintfan.lol. If it doesn’t work this year, then I’m not planting again!
