Thank you...!!! :)
Other than sayin’ “Hi...!” from the curb with them standin’ on the front porch, this is the first time we’ve visited with them on that side deck of their temporary digs since before this all started. We all stayed more than 6 feet away in our respective household groups (although youngest DD moved into her own place months ago, she still visits often), and went through the yard gate to get to the deck. Not through the house.
None of us really go anywhere to speak of. Youngest DDs school has been closed for a coupla’ months, DWifey and DS lost their jobs, this is my 4th week workin’ from home, Megan has been a SAHM since Emy was born, and Daniel has been workin’ from home since before I did.
Food is either curb-side grocery or drive-thru.
My folks were always out and about busy before, so are now gettin’ quite antsy (to say the least), but, other than a bit of walkin’ ‘round the neighborhood, they’re stayin’ put.
If I go to the corner store, I wear a mask and bring wipes to touch everything with.
We discussed the state opening back up during our Monday mornin’ office Zoom meeting today. The word is after the 30th, but, of course, that could all be extended if people don’t continue proper distancing.
Also, when we do go back, the same office precautions will be taken that were in place just before we left.
As of tonight, our county of 546,000+ residents has 117 confirmed cases and 4 deaths. The county south with our office, Austin proper, and 1,274,000+ residents has 774 confirmed cases and 9 deaths.
It sounds like the vast majority of people around here are doin’ what needs to be done. Hopefully. And, if so, hopefully they keep doin’ it.

The like is for the nice and safe visit you had with your family. From what you’ve said about your parents in the past I’m sure they must be getting a little antsy, most of us are. 🙂. Sad about the amount of deaths and cases in your area. Stay safe as it seems you and your family are doing all you can do to stay healthy.

@StarWarsGirl , I still have a couple of weeks to enjoy CBS All Access so I've been watching Blue Bloods episodes from Season 10. I'd already seen up to Season 9 but then Netflix discontinued Blue Bloods. I was bummed out!
Anyway.......in watching 10 episodes of PICARD and 4 episodes of Blue Bloods I've seen tons of commercials for Star Trek DISCOVERY.
I'm really not that interested. My favorite has always been The Next Generation. That's my style. Yet, I admit that I really liked PICARD. I guess this rambling post is my way of sounding you out regarding DISCOVERY. What did or what do you think of it? Lastly, considering what you know about my Star Trek tastes, should I trust my gut that DISCOVERY is not my style?...or...do I need a GUT CHECK?

Yes, all sad in every way, as any deaths are, of course, but, thankfully, we’re not nearly as massive as other parts of the country. SXSW here was cancelled very early, as was the Dell Industries Match Play golf tourney, etc.
I wish continued good health to you and yours in every way, as well...crazy times, but, we’ll make it...!!! :)

Seeing it was just the boys and myself I had a glass of white zin out of a box. No need to break out the good stuff. The boys had sparkling cider and finished the bottle. Dh had work last night:mad:

The Midwest has had some nasty devastating storms the last few days. My DD was on Storm duty for last week and this. Not good timing but thankfully hasn't triggered her yet. We have been fortunate that our area the storms went North of us and mostly South of us, splitting. We did have a power surge mid-night-time last night that blew the internet and power momentarily but did not wake my DD out of a sound sleep to deal with. Amen.

As a safety precaution, they use at least two people in the event that an accident happens and one of them needs to be pulled off a power line. I would think one would want that person to be a little closer then 6 feet. That's why when they are making repairs you fined two working on the line and 4 or 5 watching upward to see what is going on.

O.k. That's fair for safety reasons.

They send one up in the bucket to repair. The others have to stand by and make sure he is safe and doing it right. It’s mostly OSHA rules to protect everyone. And call if their is an accident. Sometimes there are more than two in a crew.
A very long time ago, we lost a guy that fell and died. The rules are there for a reason, and OSHA is very adamant about safety.
Good luck with the outages. It will take awhile if you have a lot out of power. DH is going to make his office here home base tomorrow so he doesn’t have to go into his office. He will advise all the scouts where to go. We still have so many out.
Good news. My DD got her power back n this afternoon. They went off at 3 am.

Thanks for the OSHA guidelines on this. I'm all for safety. (I was just trying to figure out the 6-foot distancing issue, when one guy is up in the bucket, and one is on the ground.) I can now see the reason for groups to work together for safety reasons. And with COVID-19 also affecting electrical workers, some of the guys might also be out sick, which would obviously affect how many crews can be sent out.

Luckily, we did not lose power. My guess is that our top gusts might have been close to 40 mph which blew around anything loose in the neighborhood. I see some smaller branches out on the street, but nothing major. There were parts of the state that got hit a lot more than we did.

Sounds like your hubs will be very busy today dispatching work crews. Maybe you could surprise him with a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup for lunch. :) (Bonus points if you put some potato chips on the plate, too!) :joyfull:

T was personally “challenged” by a friend, to do the Handstand Challenge and post the video on FB. (both via their parents’ accounts)

He did it, then challenged another friend, and me. I tried and gave up quickly, bursting in laughter. Promised I’d try again tonight. Looks easier than it is 😂😂

Does anyone have kids who are joining in this current quarantine challenge? If not, have them try it..fun thing for kids to spend a few minutes on.

Here’s a few stills from the video.

That’s cute.

@MySmallWorldof4 , your cheer daughter could probably do it in a straight handstand. T tried so hard to do that but had to scoot farther from the wall when he picked up his shirt. I just fell when trying. 😂
Yes she can easily do a handstand. No wall needed. There are videos online if T wants to try learning how to do one. He is pretty athletic so I bet he could get one easy.

Making a version of the holiday sandwich all day today. I keep eating it before taking a pic. Nice mini Italian rolls, turkey, stuffing, mashed potato, cranberry, a touch of brown gravy. (Am I missing some kind of cream cheese or mayo to mix the cranberry into? I think it's cream cheese. I forget.)

It's super delicious, anyway. Also did some plain ham ones in-between deliveries, trips to my store, the USPS, etc.

Gotta take another delivery as an excuse to go to Publix and get more rolls LOL.
Thank you and stay safe out there

IMHO I's say give it a shot but be warned the first season is a bit different, second season is better

Good morning, everybody! Had a late night last night watching Endgame with DS. By the end, I was ready for it to be done.

Today is planning menus for the week. I feel like I am entering the " didn't I just make that?" phase. Trying to come up with something different, but not too different, so maybe there is a chance DD will try it. I am thinking one night, maybe a mac and cheese bar. The problem is, beyond broccoli and bacon, I don't know what else I would put out. Chicken seems like a no brainer. Maybe if I have some leftover.

He can do a handstand without the wall, but he can’t put a shirt on without using it. I finally accomplished the tee shirt challenge, but it was messy. I’m not sharing my video on social media. 🤣

I called the police department about coming over for T’s bday, leading the parade.. They’re sending a couple of cars, and they also said they’d contact the fire department to have a fire truck come as well.

I think he’ll be surprised!

I did hit a bday snag though, most of the purchases wont arrive until after his bday, by 5-10 days! 😬. I ordered last week and thought it was plenty of time. :(
Heads up for anyone trying to order stuff online.

Are any of you seeing all of the gigantic birthday signs for the yard? Almost everyone here is doing them now. I just looked into it, $95 for the sign. They deliver at night, install, pick it up the next night.

I told myself that I’m going to cut back on frivolous purchases until things return to normal.. can’t decide if I want to spend that or not. I really hate that this is even an internal debate. It’s easy to say “it’s just a hundred dollars”, but I have to adjust to cutting back. Ugh. I don’t know.

$95 for a sign? How big is it? Maybe just sidewalk chalk it and give T an extra $95.
