Sorry to hear about your wife’s job. I wish your family all the best.

Thank you so very much for your concern. I very much pray y’all also come through all this as well not getting sick, and with your professions as in tacked as possible.
No pity party here, as so many others have it so very much worse. So far, there are no signs of the virus anywhere in our family. We started the social distancing thing about a month ago. Just makes sense. None of us are even remotely close to happy about any of this, but, we deal, as we should...better times are ahead if we all do what we know is right.
SonIL’s drive-by birthday celebration tonight was bittersweet, as is probably obvious. In the last pic I posted of Emy, she was waving and saying “Pappy” to me...and yes, I’ve got tears running down my face right this moment. I just wanted to hug her so bad, but, it’s not about me...it’s about all of us doin’ what we need to do to get through all this.
Again, thank you so very much for your concern, and prayers to you and hubby, as well...!!! :)

So, DWifey lost her job today. I've seen the train comin' down the track for quite some time, as I've been through this stuff more than once during my lifetime...although, I haven't heard anything, as such, I don't expect to be employed much longer. But, we have assets. Plus, we can all apply for UI...hell, DWifey and I have been payin' into that system for well over 40 years and have never tapped into it before...as many of y'all know, we worked our beeeeeeeeeeehinds off in retail during the last recession, holding as many as 3 jobs at a time. I'd do that again, if I had to, but, on lockdown, there aren't many jobs to even try to apply for, unlike the last recession which had nothing to do with a pandemic.

Just gonna' throw these 3 pics out there from happier times...one from our last cruise in early October, one from our Sweet Berry Farm visit on October 26th, and the classic Emy jungle Cruise pic from our "Worldwind" WDW trip on October 29th...!!!!!!! :joyfull::inlove::happy:

I'm so sorry about her job. Is it a furlough? Will she be hired back when things return to normal? I thought she had just recently got a promotion! And you've been with your company for a long time, right? Why do you think they will let you go?

The economy is really taking a nosedive and I worry about how people will make it.

I have to admit everybody was very well behaved and distanced with out any problems yesterday. Wegman's had purell and wipes upon entering and wipes at various points around the store as did Sam's, Target was empty and wiped each cart down and had wipes positioned.
They are disinfecting carts as people come in to the store here, and they give you a squirt of hand sanitizer. Most people are pretty good about it, but I was there a couple days ago and I was in line for a register, but with the new rules, the lines take up a lot of space. Some guy came up behind me, and all he had was 2 cans of beer and he apparently wanted to get into a line, but rather than say "excuse me" or anything he just pushed right past behind me, knocking me into my cart. And I saw a news article about a guy somewhere attacking a woman with a bag of potting soil because he got too close and she asked him to step back. But those stories are few and far between.

There's not at lot to do in NJ since everything is closed but take out places, pharmacies and gas stations.
So, I am spending a great deal of time on Youtube.
Here is an amazing & fascinating video for folks who read music. There are many Pop & Rock songs from our modern era that have been lifted from Classical music. The young (but dignified) host of the video presents the modern vs classical pieces side by side in a clever way.....making the connection between the two musical pieces very clear. Disclaimer : Clear if you read music notation. Yet for sure , non music readers can still hear the similarities and might still enjoy  watching this video. If anyone DOES enjoy it, please let me know;)

What about Robin Thicke - When I Get You Alone? Thanks....I enjoyed it. Some were more obvious than others, but interesting to see the correlation. I've always wondered about more contemporary riffs like Radio Gaga vs Ice Ice Baby. Or Super freak vs. Can't Touch This. Are they based on something from the public domain then?

Well, not as exciting as yours ?? :jawdrop: Poor Jasmine!!

I brought home a few things from the grocery store this morning. One was a package of 3 sponges (stupid purchase, that means now I have to clean something ... :cautious: ). Anyway, Jack jumped up on the counter and ran off with the package, as the thought in his demented dog mind, that it was some sort of "toy" for him to play with.

I now have one remaining sponge, out of the 3-pack, that is not chewed and spit out all over the first floor . . .
What a good boy, ruining the sponges so you don't have to feel like you need to clean anything! He just saved you some work!

Wow! That is a really cool video. I had noticed similarities previously to classical music with modern pieces. I was brought up on classical music. Had to start listening to rock in 9th grade though when kids thought I was weird for not knowing certain bands. 🙄 I really love classical music still. My favorite composer is Bach. I love the Orchestral Suite #4.

Beethoven, Moonlight Sonata. :) (When I was a kid, I took piano lessons. This was one of my favorite musical pieces to play.)

I wish I could order "take-out" from your house . . . :joyfull:
Thank you. I know I've often posted photos of what my wife has prepared. Last night my wife expressed her frustration w/ our daughter because our DD spent the entire night in her room talking to her boyfriend for 2.5 hours. My wife had asked her to join us for a family movie, but DD replied: "No thanks...I'm ok". That is just a typical night at our house. DD seems to treat us like a hotel, she just comes down when dinner is ready...and we have to call her. She just appears for food that is lovingly prepared....but DD doesn't say thank you...or realize how much effort goes into it night after night.
When I quietly tell her (when my wife is not around)....DD seems unimpressed.
Our frustration w/ this 18 year old is super high right now:(
