Notice I didn't say 'biggest'. This is as strictly pertains to the debate between Disney's Star Wars and Universal's Harry Potter attractions currently raging.

Is that what this is about? Why does it matter which franchise is bigger then? Universal is obviously doing much more with Potter than Disney has done with Star Wars. You're comparing an entire land to a single attraction. You could have the most popular franchise known to man (and Star Wars is up there), but it does you no good if you fail to utilize it.

SW is the bigger franchise. Potter is HUGE, though, with a massive adult audience as well.

SW is also the most underutilised franchise in the history of theme parks.

Why, God, why, does there exist an entire Pottyland, and is SW limited to a single ride?

For the Star Wars generation it will be star wars, for the HP generation it will be HP.

Let's face it, Star Wars will always be remembered and loved by millions of people but as a franchise, Harry Potter will eventually be more successful.

I disagree. SW is engrained in pop culture whereas HP, for as popular as it is, is not. I can mentiom Darth Vader to any 70 year old lady and she would know what I was talking about...not so with Voldemort. SW crushes HP hands down, but I strongly recommend the HP books, they are absolutely phenomenol (the movies do not do them justice what-so-ever).

Star Wars Rules!

This isn't even a debate... Star Wars.

The real shame is that Disney has been sitting on the Star Wars franchice for years, decades actually, and hasn't done a thing with it except build an outdated simulator for it. :hammer:

Potter can give you a land in a theme park, but SW, if done properly, could be an entire theme park resort.
Yep. At least throw us a Land in DHS.:dazzle:

I’ve often questioned why Disney is sitting on the rights to a multi-billion dollar franchise like Star Wars and haven’t really done anything with it other than Star Tours and a few other little attractions around it. Like you said, if you really think about it, Star Wars is so huge you could easily build an entire theme park to it. Just curious that between Disney and George Lucas hardly anything has been done to expand the franchise into the theme park arena. At least something more than Star Tours.

You're missing the point. In the many discussions about these attractions, there's been plenty of argument over which franchise is the bigger one, so I started this poll to tally the opinions. Simple as that.

Star Wars by a long shot. Why Disney has not done more with it is beyond me. It is like they are sitting on an untapped gold mine but do not want to buy any shovels. Irks me to no end.

I agree 100%. There is no reason why there should not be multiple Star Wars rides and experiecnes, the Mos Eisley cantina, and other themed eateries.

It really makes no sense.

I knew it was Star Wars, but this clinched it for me. Compare the characters...

Voldemort or Darth Vader
Hermione or Han Solo
Dumbledore or Yoda
Death Eaters or Storm Troopers
Order of the Phoenix or Jedi's
Death Star or Hogwarts

Harry Potter is very popular, but really - Star Wars has a much bigger impact.

BTW - as if that were not enough - I asked my 7 year old which one he likes better. He didn't even stop to think - Star Wars!
