The Amazing Race 15

Victoria

Not old, just vintage.
I enjoyed Sunday's episode. I am glad to see Lance and Keri go. Now if we could just get rid of the poker players.

That water slide from the next episode appears to be the Leap of Faith at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. It is a pretty awesome slide that turns into a tube slide that goes through the middle of a shark tank. I can't believe Canaan was trying to shove her down it. What an a-hole.

My score absolutely stinks since I have had two of the teams I picked in the past eliminated. I really hope that I can dig out of the hole one of these weeks.

That is interesting considering things that she said on the first episode. Here's hoping that was a time in her life that she is no longer a part of.

Not to mislead . . . :fork:

I have seen the photos. Nothing in the photos (that I saw anyway) is rated even PG13. She is fully clothed & actually reveals more skin on this week's waterslide episode.

It's definitely the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. You can see the hotel towers in the background when Cannan is assaulting Mika.

They're still in Dubai this week. There is an Atlantis Resort in Dubai that is based on the one in the Bahamas which is why it looks so similar.

Why did Mika decide to do this race if she cries at the idea of heights and has a fit at a water slide? Has she never seen this show?

It's all the Globetrotter's fault. As a Louisianian, I am truly embarrassed for Big Easy. First, he can't figure out the time. Then he makes the little country girl cry. I think Big Easy lost a lot of fans last night.

She was crying before the other teamed showed up anyway. I'm afraid of heights too but it was just a waterslide. I can't believe she didn't do it.

And the "taunting" they were doing may have actually helped her go, if she had gotten mad enough and gotten an "I'll show you" attitude. I was afraid they were cutting their own throat and wanted them to just be quiet and let her stew. Didn't end up mattering, but I was impressed the Amazing Race people had thought to put that "two minute" rule in. Without it, she could have sat there forever.

I don't blame Big Easy for taunting her. I think she made her mind up long before that she wasn't going to go down. I would have been terrified to go down, but I would have taken Erika's stance and said that I was only doing it for my teammate.

I thought the Globetrotters behavior in the Great Non-Slide Incident was perfectly within the spirit of the game, though I agree with ritchie56 that they risked Mika wanting to show them up. I don't mind teams being polite to each other when there's nothing really on the line (the Globetrotters warning another team to bring their jackets to the snowman detour, comes to mind), but you are NOT supposed to help another team beat you. The Globetrotters faced certain elimination. Sure, saying nothing would be classy, but it would also be letting yourself lose. It's a game, for crying out loud. People forget that (Especially when it comes to the Yield. Crying about being Yielded really irritates me. Game!).

I also have to agree with kstella and her excellent point: Why did Mika come on this show if she has these types of fears? There is always some sort of climbing, repeling, sliding, or zip lining challenge. Always. Once she paused and started to think, there was no way she was going down. The only thing that would have worked would have been for her to walk up and jump right down. She's almost as pitiful as the woman last season who lost the million because she had to go to the bathroom.

Other random notes:
1. The 8:35 miss by the Globetrotters was awful, but they had the good sense to make fun of themselves for it.
2. Why can't people do simple math anymore? The gold weighing challenge ... division ... 3rd grade math. Yeesh.
3. Dubai looks like a great tourist destination.
4. Phil went easy on Mika, which is fine for this show. Probst would've layed into her, which is why he's better suited for hosting Survivor.
5. So, they're headed to northern Europe next week. The Globetrotters, as showmen, will rock the dance challenge.

Even if the Globetrotters got her to go down, I think the Globtrotters would have beat them in a foot race down the beach.

They were sitting ready to go as soon as the other team would have finished.

I don't fault the Globetrotters at all. She was already crying and if she was truly a competitor it would have urged her on and made her go down the slide.

That's what I was thinking. All the other teams know that the Globetrotters can beat anyone in a foot race.

I don't blame them at all for talking smack to Mika. It's a race!

500,000 divided by 925.41? Or whatever the number was, and always changing, I can see people having trouble with unless they had a calculator.

But the guys who had one and didn't know what to do, yeah they're dumb.
