The Amazing Race 15

I can't find a point breakdown on the CBS site, either. I scored 50 points with my teams of Justin/Zev and the Globetrotters.

I didn't like the elimination at the start of the race. I'm all for humiliating reality show contestants, but I'd rather they at least get a chance to run a leg. Admittedly, when it was down to the Yoga team and the knucklehead lawyer guy, I was hoping both teams would get the early boot.

The Japanese game show was fun, as was the duck herding. The guy with the pink hair made up a ton of time with the ducks. The poker players are idiots, the pretty people are pretty, and the Globetrotters (not surprisingly) knew how to play to the game show crowd. Still like them and Justin/Zev. Zev, similar to my oldest son with Asperger's, is honest, literal, and without artifice.

Each week they don't give you a breakdown of your points. I really wish they did. It would make the score seem so much less arbitrary.

Figured I would bring this to the second page....

III. How Do I Score Points?
A. If any of the Amazing Race Teams on your team do any of the following during an episode of the show, you score points. No points are awarded for flashbacks. Watch the show and see what's happening. Here's how the points are scored:

a. First to Complete a Detour: Your team earns 50 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is the first team to complete a detour.

b. First to Complete a Roadblock: Your team earns 50 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is the first team to complete a roadblock.

c. First to Complete a Fast Forward: Your team earns 100 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is the first team to complete a fast forward.

d. Victim of a U turn: Your team loses 100 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams Team is victim to a U Turn.

e. First to the Mat: Your team earns 100 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is first to the Mat.

f. Second to the Mat: Your team earns 50 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is 2nd to the Mat.

g. Third to the Mat: Your team earns 25 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is 3rd to the Mat.

h. Team is Eliminated: Your team loses 100 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams are eliminated.

i. Last to the Matt But Not Eliminated: Your team loses 50 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams is last to the Mat but is not eliminated.

j. Team Cries: Your team loses 25 points anytime any member of one of your Amazing Race Teams cries.

k. Team Falls: Your team loses 25 points anytime any member of one of your Amazing Race Teams falls.

l. Penalty: Your team loses 100 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams receives a penalty.

m. Helps Another Team: Your team earns 25 points anytime any of the members of one of your Amazing Race Teams helps another team.

n. Speaks a Local Language: Your team earns 10 points anytime any of the members of one of your Amazing Race Teams speaks the local language.

o. Swearing: Your team loses 5 points anytime one of your Amazing Race Teams swears (bleeped out).

p. Hugging: Your team earns 5 points anytime any member of one of your Amazing Race Teams hugs another person.

Yeah, I wish they'd put what we got points for. I mean, it's easy to know if we get points for when the teams arrive on the mat. But I can't keep track of who cries, swears, falls, etc.

I added the points breakdown to the first post.

Is there an easy way for people to find the AmazingRaceMagic group over at the fantasy game? I can't find a way to search.

You can invite people by email. I thought there was a search box somewhere on the main page.

Right now, we're on page 104 of the Public Group list, based on our group score of 54 (which must be the average of all of us). They should really deduct points for any team that misses something due to not reading the clue. Happens a bunch of times every season and drives me crazy every time. Take the extra 10 seconds to fully read the clue!

What did everyone think of last night's episode?

I laughed watching that one team dancing in front of the water dragons...haha.

I wish the meat head lawyer would go home! I was happy that they kept making little mistakes (like not knowing the clue was inside the bullet thing.)

I wasn't surprised with who went home. They just seemed to be a little slow with everything. They had no urgency when completing tasks.

So far this looks like it will be a great season. I was so surprised about the lawyer and the bullet clue. I don't know what area he practices in, but lawyers are generally supposed to be fairly observant.

I was kind of glad to see last night's team go. Marcy was beginning to get to me with her comments. For example, when they were in the car and Ron said something about if you don't like traffic, stay away from Ho Chi Minh city. So, she comes back and says, "if you don't like the opposite ______ stay away from earth" or something to that effect. The look on his face expressed my feelings exactly. He looked at her as if he was thinking, 'what the heck are you talking about?'

I still don't have a favorite team, but I am ready for Lance to go!

I don't really have a favorite team yet either. I feel like we just haven't seen a whole lot of each team yet.

I do like Justin and Zev but was kind of annoyed when they chose the giraffe. I also like Meghan and Cheyne even though his hair is just so dorky!

I picked both those teams for my fantasy teams this week again. I probably shouldn't because I don't really know how much longer Justin and Zev will stick around. They didn't do too hot this week. Oh well. I'll give them at least one more week as one of my fantasy picks.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am very disturbed by just how stupid the body builder lawyer is, not to mention how nasty he is to his wife. They are in such a hurry that they don't pay attention to the little details. If I were a perspective client of his, I would have second thoughts. So far they've managed to stay in the race because their little mistakes haven't hurt them too much, but eventually they will and they will be eliminated.

How did everyone do in the fantasy game this week?
I'm up to 280 points.
My husband (unclefarts...haha) is tied with me right now.

I am still majorly in the hole. I am at -25 because I am still working off the elimination of the yoga couple in week one. This week I have the Globetrotters and Ceghan/Cheyne on my team. I hope the guys continue to do well. They seem to really have the team work thing down to a science. Plus they are in really good physical shape. I am hoping to get out of this hole next week.

I noticed that everyone on our team has similiar picks.....

Meghan/Cheyne
Herbert/Nathaniel
Justin/Gev

And then my husband has the father/son team picked.

So basically...if any of those three teams get eliminated next week, our team score is going to be pretty bad...haha.

But being optimistic, if any of those teams come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd...that should help us out.

I had Justin and Zev last week, but switched them out for this week. I'm not predicting good things for them, though I like them. My other team is Meghan and Cheyne, who gave me good points last week, though every time I see the way they spell "Cheyne" put up on the screen, it makes me want to slap his mom. LOL--I guess that's the way it's done now--the weirder the spelling the better! :sohappy:

I feel like I should get rid of Justin and Zev too. But I think I'll give them another week just because I like them. If they are really bad though I'll ditch them next time...haha.

I have 260. I'll keep my guys until they get eliminated.

I knew the old people were going to get the boot early on in the episode. Whenever a team talks in their confessionals about how emotional this or that part of the race makes them feel, their story arc is concluding. These two were there for the ride, not the competition, I think.

I was disappointed in my guys Zev and Justin for selecting the Giraffe. Balance, low center of gravity, ... giraffe? Bad move, guys. At least they read the clue and kept the broken fragments.

I just saw a preview for The Amazing Race during Survivor. And they show who loses their passport.

I won't post it here in case people don't want to know. But if you DO want to know...just ask. :)
