The Amazing Race 15

The fantasy game hasn't put up this weeks scores yet. However, we can now see how many points each team had. There's a link that says "weekly scores." YAY!

During the first episode, I got 195 from Meghan and Cheyne and 25 from Zev and Justin. Second episode I got 50 from Meghan and Cheyne and 10 from Zev and Justin.

I have a feeling our group score is going to go way down this week because I think a lot of people picked Justin and Zev.

Not old, just vintage.
I think my new racers for the week are going to be the Globetrotters and Megan/Cheyne. So far the Globetrotters are doing amazing so I am going to stick with them for the time being. Megan/Cheyne seem to be sorta ok for now. I like them better than most of the other teams at this point. Later in the week I might switch them out for Sam/Dan.

I was just amazed last night at how few contestants recognized the picture of Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Really pretty sad....

I'm going to keep Meghan and Cheyne again this week. Plus Brian and Ericka. I'm glad I saw the preview that showed Justin and Zev losing their passports. I switched them out for Brian and Ericka on Thursday night. Close call...haha.

I agree! That was insane. People thought it was a Queen?!

It was sad they didn't know Jackie, but most of those folks are younger, so maybe it just didn't strike them. Once they KNEW who she was, they mostly recognized her.

I had taken Zev/Justin off my list, thank goodness, but I do wonder how they will score that. Plus 100 for coming in first and minus 100 for getting eliminated? Will those who came in second and third then move up to coming in first and second? That would be good for me, since the Globetrotters came in third, and would be second if they move them up. If not, I think I maybe got ten points for a hug somewhere, and that's about it. I guess we'll find out soon!

Do you remember which people didn't recognize her? I can't remember.

Oh yeah...don't forget to watch "Elimination Station" and then answer the bonus question on the right side of the fantasy page. :)

This week's elimination station also shows what happened with the passport.

Points are up for this week, and I did pretty well. I got 90 points last week (one second place finish, a hug, and the bonus question from last week.) I think that bonus question is the best kept secret out there. That 30 points is pretty much a sure thing. So I'm up to a total of 150 points.

I noticed the Zev/Justin team was scored at -35, so that wasn't as bad as it could have been.

How did the rest of you do?

I'm up to 350 points now.

Week 1 = 220
Week 2 = 60
Week 3 = 70

Thank God for week 1. I haven't done that great these last two.

I chose Meghan/Cheyne and Brian/Ericka again this week so we'll see how it goes.

I looked and our group is ranked 503rd out of the public groups. 1261 out of ALL groups.

I'm up to 735 points now. I'm tied for 78th place!

Our team has 423. We're ranked 114th in the public groups and 409th out of all the groups.

I chose the same teams again this week - Meghan/Cheyne and Ericka/Brian. Maybe they'll do good things for me again! :)

I have 470 points with the Globetrotters and Ericka & Brian. Good teams, both of them.

A couple of random observations from the show:
1. The brothers are complete morons. They seriously tried to buy plane tickets not to an airport, a city, or even a country, but to the "Persian Gulf". I'm speechless.
2. I really appreciated the similarities and differences in the challenges. The Roadblock had small containers of water hidden among the sand in the scorching desert heat, while the Detour had small ornaments hidden among the snow in the chilly indoor frost. While both challenges seemed to be all about luck, they both tested the physical (and mental) toughness of the competitors.
3. The lunkheads who lost said that they were "directionally challenged". Understanding directions and a basic knowledge of the compass are kind of key aspects to the Race, don't you think? On the plus side, they didn't go out in a screaming, I-HATE-YOU fit like I thought they would.
4. How about the previews for next week? Whichever one of Mika & Canaan that is the guy tries to forcibly make the girl go down what looks to be a Summit Plummet wannabe. It could get ugly ...

I think Mika is the girl and Canaan the guy. She's wearing water wings....haha. But yeah, pretty jerky for him to try to push her down. Jerky and unsafe.

I laughed a lot this week when Mika said something like "It's weird how driving 117 MPH feels like going 60 MPH back home." Hilarious!!

Glad to see Lance and Keri go. I also was a bit surprised there wasn't an elimination freak out from them.

I was really surprised by the way that they handled themselves. He seemed to be a lot calmer on that episode. Maybe he just manned up and accepted that they were leaving and dealt with it quite gracefully.

I didn't hear about that. I thought only Miss America was a celebrity.

and the globetrotters to an extent. Plus, Canaan apparently has a song out on the country music charts and the two poker playing girls.

I was thinking Mika was this innocent, sweet country girl til I discovered her M@xim photoshoot. Is everyone on this years race a minor celebrity??

That is interesting considering things that she said on the first episode. Here's hoping that was a time in her life that she is no longer a part of.

I have 410 points so far. So is the group score an average?

I would love to slide down that "mountain" on a shovel like they did--looked like great fun!

I think the group score must be an average or something. Not sure though.

I love sledding but I haven't done it in years....I'm old!
