As some of you may have saw I ordered Colleen a special birthday cake from The GF Bakery to have delivered here for this reservation. It was basically a wedding cake I saw in google images and had them transform it into a birthday cake! It had chocolate cake inside with white icing and Penn State Blue Mickey's all over it. The cake was AZAZING. The chocolate inside was more of a mousse texture and was just SO good. I normally don't like chocolate cake with white icing but this was really really good. PM me for the price. I don't want her to see or know what it cost!

Penn State Alum here. Love the cake!!!!!

Now for all the ranting and raving I heard about The Yachtsman Steakhouse...

Rolls and Butter with Garlic. The onion roll = Amazing. It is JUST as good as The Pretzel Bread at Le Cellier, if not better.

I am very excited to try Yachtsman for the first time next month. The bread definitely looks amazing...as well as the steaks!

Now I am very hugry for lunch!! Very glad you all keep having good meals LeCellier, ours was not that great. My steak was burnt to crisp on the outside but perfect on the inside. I also love the porterhouse at the Yachtsman...melt in your mouth goodness. We also at at Beachs and Cream for the first time and it was by far the best lunch we had all week!! Cant wait to see the rest of the weeks meals!!

I had a steak at Le Cellier that was like that. It was not burt to a crisp but I actaully liked it like that better. Had a small crunch to it. I need the inside done right so that it hold it's flavor so it was all good with me. It was like a secret bonus. When I was little I used to ask my mom to burn my steak and I would dump ketchup on it and LOVED it.

She did too. She was SO happy. Singing "I got a birthday cake with Penn State Colors" She is a dork.

Yeah that onion bread was great! So was The Porterhouse!

Colleen said her Steak was pretty good. She said that it was not good enough that it would make her want to spend 2 credits on it again. We both LOVED my Porterhouse though and agreed that it IS worth going back for by far. However we both agreed it was not The Le Cellier Filet by any means. I purposely booked both places in the same day to have a fresh opinion on both. It just did not measure up to Le Cellier. Did I want it to? Yes. I would LOVE to have a better feeling of what is going on in my mouth when I eat at Le Cellier. Am I being biased? Absolutely not. Like I said I would LOVE to find something better so I can eat even better and more next trip. Will I go back? 100% yes.

Total $119.69

I wonder what you compared. A porterhouse is actualy a NY Strip AND a filet all in one.

One side of the T is the strip, the smaller side is the filet.

The strip side will be tougher, but more flavorful, and the filet will be ternderer (is that a word?) and less flavorful.

It all depends on what side Colleen ate from. She could have just be sampling another peice of the NY Strip she already had.

I cut it from the smaller side so she had filet.

I also think that unidentified dessert from Le Cellier is a floating island.

Wow, friggin old school is what it is. Nice throwback item. It is merangue in creme anglise. It is like a 1950's staple of fine dining. That does not make it bad at all, just a pretty cool old school dessert to put on a menu. They get a kudos from me for that trick, even though it is not one of my favorite places.

So Le Cellier is my favorite restaurant in the WORLD! (Real world included!) The filet is the best! I could eat it every day... Mmmmmmm.....

We have ressies for Les Chefs De France in November and I'm getting more and more nervous about going there.... I'm reading not so good reviews about it!!! I'm thinking maybe changing it to Via Napoli....? But my sister really wants to see Remmy (that's REALLY why we booked Les Chefs)

We're also planning on going to try Beaches Cream and your pics sealed the deal on that one... Give me a huge ice cream sundae like that any day and I'm a happy girl! :)

... And on that note, I'm going to eat some pizza for a co-workers birthday (OH, how I wish it were as good as the pics of the Pizza at VN you took....)

That thing has been there. I meet Foolish Mortal there in 2009 and his mom had that for dessert.

I'd 100% switch to Via Napoli and Remmy is not even promised to be there. He is on a schedule.

We loved Chefs. Thought the service was great, and the food was really good. The atmosphere was neat too. They had someone coming around to all the tables with kids with a mini Ratatouille character under a serving platter. The kids loved it. I would eat there again in a heartbeat. Personally, I have trouble getting excited for any Italian food, since it seems that 50% of the restaurants around me here in MD are Italian.

Great food reports here! I do have a question. We have our first ever ADR at Le Cellier coming up in Dec. From the photos here, it looks like the meals will be very tasty and elegant, but quite small. I'm a big eater. Do I need to order two of everything? :) Or, it is just the perspective of the camera that makes me think things are small?

Thanks!

Hey John. Good report. Too bad we didn't run into you this year like we did at Le Cellier last year. Did you like the green tea pudding? I tried it and didn't like it at all. One bite and done.

Eh you fill up on the pretzel bread before you even start eating...Haha

The filet is KIND of small but it's pretty much the same size as anyone elses filet in WDW.

I LOVED The Green Pudding last year because I felt like I was going to hate it as much as I hate the Ginger Cake. This year I was over the whole thing and it was just OK.

Great report and pictures! I had to loosen my belt after reading it all.

I think it's time for a snack. :slurp:

By the way, have you ever tried Le Cellier? I think you would like it!

Don't let me figure out photoshop dude...it will be on!

Haha wait till you see my Green Tea Pudding pictures!

Not funny!!! Nothing could make that look good. It's funny when I was reading the part about the girl at Teppan Edo and her face with the chocolate ginger cake, I said I bet it is exactly how mine looked when I gave the green tea pudding a try! Like I told you, it definitely requires an aquired taste that was sure, but hey, at least I can say I tried it!

Love the pics of the butter from Narcoosee's... Looks like it is exactly what they serve at GF cafe. It's so good with the sea salt on top! Devon liked it so much he was eating the darn butter with a fork... All I could say was "Seriously? Can we show a little class here?" His response, but mom, its just so good! Nasty!

Ahhhh! The Bailey's & Jack Mousse from Coral Reef one of my favs. But I have to say looks like the serving size has gotten smaller over the years.

I happen to like Le Chefs as well. Maybe it's me, but I still enjoy it. Dont get me wrong, I like Via Napoli as well.

Le Cellier portions are "normal". Not big, not small. They do have big plates that makes it look smaller. I would hardly call them elegant though.

Come on...it aint THAT bad. If I like it it HAS to be at least decent. I don't like anything!

He was eating just butter? That is horribly disgusting! Haha

The mousse is actually bigger if you ask me!
