Crap, Jt agrees with me. That means it's a bad idea.I have thought for a long time time that SM could be gutted and filled with new content.

I'm open to alternative suggestions, but I think the fundamental opposition would be, "it's different and scary and I refuse to think logically".
That's too crazy! Many people wouldn't be happy with this at all....
Space Mountain is a Magic Kingdom original.I'm open to alternative suggestions, but I think the fundamental opposition would be, "it's different and scary and I refuse to think logically".

THIS!!!!Space mountain as it stands today is still a great ride. Does it need a massive refurb new cars and a new track? Yes. Does it need to be rebranded? No. Last week when I was down there, the wait times varied anywhere between 40-90 minutes. Give it some TLC, get rid of the breaks before the last drop they added a few years back, and bring it back to being the best Space Mountain in all of the parks.
Does this ride really use so much power that theyd rather let it rot unused for twelve months than run it?As much as I want to believe otherwise, my guess is Stitch will just sit and rot until a replacement is ready. It's not like we haven't seen things be SBNO for years before!
oh my godBut Sugar Rush isn't Tomorrowland.
Even if they somehow came up with a hybrid 50/50 space bugs in sugar rush concept it would still be shoehorned in to fit the land. No Id much rather Buzz get retrofitted for a WiR Space Bug blaster game and then see The WiR motion seat theater thing be set up to look like a retro futuristic arcade (A tour of Grand Central...hijinks ensues) that then dumps into Fantasyland to set guests up to riding a Sugar Rush remodel. In an ideal world.
For any Sugar Rush ride I would hope they consider placing it in Fantasyland. Or somehow making Autopia Speedway part of Fantasyland.
Intellectual property is not a theme or story-based distinction.I'm open to alternative suggestions, but I think the fundamental opposition would be, "it's different and scary and I refuse to think logically".
But it's old and creaky and worn out.Space Mountain is a Magic Kingdom original.
Would you move the Matterhorn out of Disneyland?
Yes to the first two, no to the rest. But it's old and creaky and worn out.
And badly in need of refurb/retrack/tron coaster/something even cooler////
Space Mountain opened on January 15, 1975. It was not there in 1971 when the Magic Kingdom opened.Space Mountain is a Magic Kingdom original.

Matterhorn didn't happen with Disneyland either. Both are still iconic parts of the park.Space Mountain opened on January 15, 1975. It was not there in 1971 when the Magic Kingdom opened.
But it is still an original.Space Mountain opened on January 15, 1975. It was not there in 1971 when the Magic Kingdom opened.
Original as in the MK one was the first one.Space Mountain opened on January 15, 1975. It was not there in 1971 when the Magic Kingdom opened.
It's badly in need of having done to it what Universal did to The Hulk. But it's old and creaky and worn out.

The attraction could be one of the worlds best. It has so much potential for relatively little required outlay.
It's not bad is it. Shows what can be done.Hulk rides like a dream now.
