Start Dieting for WDW trip PART II

First of all, I'd like to thank those supporters last year and would like anybody who wants to join me to keep updates too.

Last year I started at 193 I believe and planned on losing 15 pounds. I actually lost 23 for my trip and gained NONE of it back on the trip. I've been around 170-180 for the past 6-7 months. I've gone up another 10 to 190 this last months. We've had a family tragedy and we have been getting lots of food from family and friends. Thanks to all of them, but it's time to get back to work!

Today -- 162 days out (hey that's a whole baseball season) I am at 190. My goal is to get back to the college days at 150. So that's 40 pounds in 5.5 months. That still breaks down to less than 2 pounds a week. Anything more than a goal if 2 pounds a week can be dangerous.

I started today with an apple for breakfast and trail mix for lunch. Dinners will have to be moderated and NO MORE DESSERT OR OVERNIGHT SNACKING. I'm sure since the first 10 went on fairly quick they may come off in the first month -- but then the real grind starts.

If anybody else wants to join me, I'll do updates Wednesdays and post them for everybody. Just IM me. I am very serious about this and it's time to hit the treadmill. Dieting without exercise is easy, but to make a healthy heart, you need to make your full body healthy, not just your waistline. I'm starting with a Mile run tonight and will try to build up to 3 miles by the end of the month as well. What happened to those days when I could do a 10K effortlessly? Oh, and tonight is pasta night at Olive Garden. To-Go boxes are our friends.

Jimbo - Day 1 - 190

PS, sorry about slacking off last year and not updating after the trip, will do better this year.

Just discovered this thread, and now I know that I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!
:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Before going last year, I lost 15 pounds....and got down to 280.....yeah, I know...still miserable. Actually GAINED back up to 305 only 7 months later!

But, after making our reservations for October, I AM DETERMINED to get below 240! In the last month and a half, thanks to free-weights, treadmill and NutriSystem, I am pleased to announce that I am about to go back under 280. 40+ more pounds in 190 days! I CAN and WILL pull it off!
I just want to be more comfortable and feel better.....I can already tell a difference just in losing a little over 20 lbs.

Good luck to everyone else in the same boat.

Just wanted to say: CUTE PIC! :)

And I wish you the best of luck...Heaven's knows I need it myself!

2 more for the Drop for the Trip club.
I'm out for the weekend and will update Monday. I'll also add any more names that want in. Remember -- Starving bad -- moderation good. My big tip -- don't eat after 8PM -- anything. If you have a grumble in your tummy as you go to bed, GREAT. That means you will start eating the fat away overnight. Then eat or drink a glass of milk in the morning. Tonight is night 2 of workouts. I could only run 2/3 a mile last night (I also have a treadmill with a pretty large incline locked) and then walked another 1.5. Time to hit the big Oh-1 miles tonight. The incline is really better for me, then I get the heart rate up. Call me Panty McPants-a-lot.

Oh, if I did get your weeks or pounds wrong, let me know, I'll be taking 1 week of next Wednesday.

I'd love to get in on this as well. I started dieting on January 2nd with a goal of 70-80 lbs by the time our trip to WDW in August arrives. To date I am down 47 lbs and still going strong. Gee the free dining plan in August would be a nice treat at the end the diet when we visit WDW.

Well, it was a great weekend. Single plate Easter Dinner and Single plate dessert. Only 10 pieces of candy. I dropped the first 2 lbs (although if you'll remember the last 10 went on in the past few weeks). So I'm hitting 188, and the next 1-2 will be easy, then the hard part begins. And welcome to 2 more!

Great job, Jimbo!

I'm avoiding the scales....not because I'm doing poorly, but sometimes, when the weight doesn't come off as fast as I think it should, I get discouraged.
But, I can tell that my face is thinner AND I got into a suit yesterday that I thought there was no way I'd ever wear again! Whooo-Hooo!:sohappy:
I've also had to go buy jeans 4 inches smaller in the waist!:sohappy:

Good luck to everyone! WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Hey Everyone! So far so good for me! I have worked out 6 days this week and I have my WW weigh in tonight. I will update you either later tonight or tomorrow with my results. I don't weigh myself other than my weekly weigh in so I don't have a clue how I did this week. I hope for 2 pound loss like last week.

Just 3 updates this week. Still let me know if you want to be updated, I'll repost. ANON1 -- that drop made your goal look MUCH easier. Nova already had a jump start -- and Your almost there. Oh, and the 5 lbs for me won't be normal -- remember I topped out before I started this thread. But still, I'm 12.5% there. Keep the updateds coming -- and if you want to be dropped, just let me know. Also if you only want to be updated every few weeks that's okay too. If you want to get the updates to me early for the next week or on the weekend that's okay too, I'll just post it Monday. :sohappy: for the 3 "losers".

Just found this thread - have been consumed by the Free Dining Rumour thread. But - Count me in too! I joined WW early March - this week down 15.6 pounds - looking to lose 45 (another 30) for my trip Sept. 17. Any extra support is wonderful! I did Atkins last year - lost 30 in 7 months and immediately, within 2 months, gained it back (plus 10) when I started eating "normal" again. So started WW - figured out that a balanced diet is so much better for me.

I remember seeing your thread last year - Thanks for starting this thread again this year! :)

Down to 197--just 27 pounds to go before Sept 11. I'm officially and--I think--"safely" past the halfway point now. Sure does feel a lot better knowing that I have "27 to go" instead of "67 to go" (which is where I started in Jan).

For everyone just starting, I have to say: keep with it, and keep your spirits up! The goal can be daunting at first, but you'll be feeling great about yourself down the line if you keep with it. Now, I can't help but do things like look at my 4-year-old and think "You know, in January, I was carrying him around with me EVERYWHERE." (because I've lost about as much as he weighs, I think). It's amazing when you can think of things in those terms.

I just started a new diet for the summer and for Disney later this year. I always have a problem while at work. I love sweets and such. 2 weeks ago i realized just how much I had. 15 pounds in 2 months. Ok time to stop eating the sweets and no more McDonalds breakfast.

I am starting my diet in May, as stressful as college is... I need my nachos, soda, and cake....till the end of April. My goal from May-Sept 9th is to lose 15pounds. I am short so if I gain more weight it's going to start to show, I really want to make sure that doesn't happen.
