He is currently scanning slides from the building of Epcot and DLP on his Twitter feed.

I'm not on 'Twitter', and not much of a online 'social media' person, so had you not posted this I would have totally missed it.
Thank you VERY much for bringing these recent photos to my attention!

Several of them are interior construction photos from Tom's work during the Imagination Pavilion build that I have been looking to find for YEARS.
That, and the shots of Tony on-site at this Pavilion totally made my evening!

Thank you!
:)

I had the pleasure of spending a short time with Tom at the 2015 D23 Expo.
We talked a bit about the Original 'Journey Into Imagination' which was a delight, exspecially since Tony was right there with us as well.
A memorable moment that was....

No problem. I am glad to share. Apparently he just starting scanning those slides recently so I am hoping for more good stuff!

This has probably been asked a million times on all of the forums, but what is the reasoning behind not building parking garages? They would save a ton of space. I went to two different universities, one had a parking garage, and the other had a lot. I much preferred the garage (plus they blended into the rest of the architecture on campus, which was a bonus).

The cost. Parking lots cost around $2 per square foot on the high end. Parking garages can be upwards of $100 or more per square foot.

You only build parking garages when you do not have the room for a parking lot. Since WDW tends to have plenty of room, parking lots are the best option.

I would say even bigger. BUT they could be looking at another Friday the 13th event nightmare from a few years ago if they don't get their parking up to speed.

This.....if the park as a whole isn't changed it will be a mob scene. Not just parking spaces but the entrance ect. Here's the hoping they get it right. Star wars fan boys will be salivating.

Huge Star wars fan here. No way I'll go to DHS when this opens up with the crowds. I'm very excited about this project.

Yes, they are indeed!

I am very grateful to have seen those Imagination Pavilion photos.
Tom has a huge photo archive so I am sure he will be sharing more.
It is just a matter of having the time to scan / digitally convert things.

Tony has a absolutely immense photo archive himself.
He has photographed everything through the years.
I would LOVE to see his collection related to the Imagination build!
Some day...

This might be a stupid question, but if the parking garage is fairly close to the entrance, wouldn't the cost be offset by the elimination of some or all of the parking lot trams/drivers?

The other problem with building a garage is that it locks you in a little more for future expansion. There is very little to loose if you build a surface lot and then eventually decide to expand the park into it. That becomes a lot more expensive you built a garage.

Not really.

Like any structure, parking garages need maintenance. Any savings from not needing a tram would be quickly eclipsed by the increased maintenance cost of a parking garage over that of a parking lot.

Yeah - ever seen the staffing at the Disney Springs garage? It's surprisingly very large.
