Not any more it seems.
Was the garage plan possibly left over from when SWL was going to go out into the parking lot?
Not any more it seems.
Nope.Robust internal transportation can replace a lot of cars. Perhaps that is the thinking.
Oh yeah, does anybody know how Tom Morris is doing?
He is currently scanning slides from the building of Epcot and DLP on his Twitter feed.Hopefully enjoying himself with the extra time he now has to pursue personal interests.

No problem. I am glad to share. Apparently he just starting scanning those slides recently so I am hoping for more good stuff!I'm not on 'Twitter', and not much of a online 'social media' person, so had you not posted this I would have totally missed it.
Thank you VERY much for bringing these recent photos to my attention!
Several of them are interior construction photos from Tom's work during the Imagination Pavilion build that I have been looking to find for YEARS.
That, and the shots of Tony on-site at this Pavilion totally made my evening!
Thank you!
I had the pleasure of spending a short time with Tom at the 2015 D23 Expo.
We talked a bit about the Original 'Journey Into Imagination' which was a delight, exspecially since Tony was right there with us as well.
A memorable moment that was....

The cost. Parking lots cost around $2 per square foot on the high end. Parking garages can be upwards of $100 or more per square foot. This has probably been asked a million times on all of the forums, but what is the reasoning behind not building parking garages? They would save a ton of space. I went to two different universities, one had a parking garage, and the other had a lot. I much preferred the garage (plus they blended into the rest of the architecture on campus, which was a bonus).

I would say even bigger. BUT they could be looking at another Friday the 13th event nightmare from a few years ago if they don't get their parking up to speed.
Huge Star wars fan here. No way I'll go to DHS when this opens up with the crowds. I'm very excited about this project.This.....if the park as a whole isn't changed it will be a mob scene. Not just parking spaces but the entrance ect. Here's the hoping they get it right. Star wars fan boys will be salivating.
How's that affect anyone who lives in the state of Florida?

The Imagination pavilion pictures are awesome!
This might be a stupid question, but if the parking garage is fairly close to the entrance, wouldn't the cost be offset by the elimination of some or all of the parking lot trams/drivers?The cost. You only build parking garages when you do not have the room for a parking lot. Since WDW tends to have plenty of room, parking lots are the best option.
Not really. This might be a stupid question, but if the parking garage is fairly close to the entrance, wouldn't the cost be offset by the elimination of some or all of the parking lot trams/drivers?
Yeah - ever seen the staffing at the Disney Springs garage? It's surprisingly very large. Not really.
Like any structure, parking garages need maintenance. Any savings from not needing a tram would be quickly eclipsed by the increased maintenance cost of a parking garage over that of a parking lot.
