WDI has it's work cut out for them to top what is going on over at DAK with The World of Pandora. I am hopeful SWL will be more breathtaking when all said and done.

I think the key way to really make it breathtaking is in terms of the "streetmosphere" of having CMs walking around of various creatures and having droids roaming or poking their heads out and the like. If they go full blown with that in addition to having realistic all inspiring buildings and two great rides, they should have a hit. But I feel like the Ops budget will eventually get slashed, so that if it is great character interactions to start, it may not persist long term.

I would say even bigger. BUT they could be looking at another Friday the 13th event nightmare from a few years ago if they don't get their parking up to speed.

I just don't understand where they are going to put all the people? When this and TSL open what will be the acreage of Studios compared to MK?

Also, in regards to SWL being done at DL earlier, my first thought would be from a business perspective. If you open both at the same time, majority of folks are going to fly to Florida and make a week vacation out of it so DL basically gets the same locals to show up. If DL opens first, the Star Wars "crazies" probably won't be able to wait and they will fly to Cali to see it thus driving up DL attendance and dollars.

They claim DHS is 135 acres. Bigger than MK. A lot of that is not currently guest-accessible.

We were discussing these numbers recently, using all the guest areas and backstage only gets you 118 acres....

You would have to include parts ok the parking lots to get to 135.

When both lands are open, guest accessible areas will be on a par with what was available when LMA was still open.

At least the two SWL attractions will have huge queues. Plenty of room to stand around.

Kinda. You have to include the Bus stops and move the line out to the property lines but it gets to 135.

BTW for those who are interested this fun little tool can be found here: https://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-area-calculator-tool.htm
It'll never happen, but maybe they should move DHS parking to Epcot to be able to use that considerable amount of acreage for expansion. This assumes the gondolas eventually come to the Future World entrance.

Well, they now have the plans for parking garages.

They were to be used if Television was removed, the new cast lot wasn't built and Stage was heavily curtailed.

Rather than posit that DHS's SWL is going to open about six months after DL's SWL due to inexplicable incompetence, perhaps it was planned that way so that the team of imagineers charged with 'finishing' the lands can get one done first and then move onto the other?

Sorry if that doesn't fit into a hate-narrative.
You're so right. It's not like they recently fired experienced Imagineers who could have helped with these projects or anything. There's only so many experienced people in the industry.

Oh yeah, does anybody know how Tom Morris is doing?

Epcot, Tokyo Disneyland, New Fantasyland.

MGM, Typhoon Lagoon, new hotel inventory.

They could open both if they wanted to, but they don't want to. Because they're cheap. They're also probably a little incompetent too... ;)

I hope they don't try to use the opening of star wars land as an upcharge event to control initial crowds.
