Weird...I could hear it in my head too...namely the Jedi end credits which was the best Johnny williams arrangement of the 3

They didn’t do the “good bad and ugly” typical credits music...I noticed. It would have been inappropriate with the kid leaving. The team on this show gets it. I only think some of the people working on revenge of the Sith and Gareth Edwards has on any feature after ROJ...
I was surprised (and somewhat sad) we didn't get the concept art in the credits. I've come to really look forward to that after each episode to see how close they got in the final produced episode.

However, for the emotional state I was in after the episode 'ended', I think fading to black and stying that way was the correct choice, especially with the added impact of that last 'And' credit that made me cry even harder. Plus leading into the tag scene.

I'm personally good with how they used Luke here. Yeah it's fan service, but it's logical that Luke would be the only one who could and should swoop in to take Gorgu away. Ending the key relationship of the series thus far in a fan pleasing way was an almost impossible task, but Luke helped pull it off.
Luke - and R2! ♥️ - is literally the only person in the galaxy that *I* would trust or be satisfied with taking care of this baby that we have come to love so much. I would never have felt he was 'safe' or that Mando should let him go with anyone else. Anyone. Not only for who Luke is to us, the fans, but for his ability to protect the child and for his sense of connection to the species through his mentor, Yoda.

Soooo good.

Anyhoo, the next season is Dec 2021. The stinger says that "The Book of Boba Fett" is coming Dec 2021. So... the next season will be be a Boba Fett arc.

In a way, the title of the show is ingenious in that any Mandalorian (or, by stint of armor, Mandalorian-adjacent) be *the* Mandalorian.

Maybe they'll be a Bo Katan arc and she's *the* Mandalorian.

Maybe a hundred years from now they'll be another Jedi-Mandalorian who'll unite all the factions. Right Grogu?

On another point: I still see Favreau/Filoni canonizing the canon. As much as some want the prequels or the sequels erased, everything ever canon gets cemented in with the F&F providing more backstory, and explanation, and interconnectedness.

Gideon wants *order*. It's is *first* priority...
I hope not. I have no interest in watching a Boba Fett SHOW. I want to see the continuing adventures of Mando

This is what I took from the trailer as well. It doesn’t make sense to release 2 similar Star Wars shows at the same time.

Imo, Grogu must die eventually though.. they have to stay within the constraints of the timeline, and he wasn’t in the latest trilogy. Or maybe not.. and someday they’ll come out with a Kylo Ren series (as Ben Skywalker), and Grogu dies in that. I don’t know how else to explain why he wasn’t in The Force Awakens.

We'll know more in the new spin-off series: Master Skywalker's Home for Peculiar Children

I don't think he has to die just because he wasn't in the sequels. Star wars has a history of hiding characters of importance. At the time of Luke's Jedi academy falling, Grogu would be what, only 15yrs older, max? He wouldn't be able to help anyway as 15yrs to Grogu would be like a 5yr old aging a year. I'm sure they could come up with something. Grogu is off world with the Mando at the time the academy falls is a simple solution. It would be a segways to ep10 if they wanted. Rey, finds a holocron of Luke's, it gives information on where to find Grogu... There would be plenty of ways to explain him not being in the sequels in my opinion.

I mean, he’d be 65 and Yoda was 100 when he started being able to train Jedi himself.

“For 800 years I have trained Jedi, keep my own council on who to train.”

“When 900 years old you reach, look this good you will not!”

Grogu should at least be the equivalent of a teenager or something soon.

So the pandemic may have helped keep some of this a secret but according to Mark his involvement has been a year in the making and no one leaked it. Considering the whole plot of RoS was released months before the film thats pretty amazing.... or Dave and Jon just have a better hold on their team than JJ and Johnson did.

Not to mention every other character that came in this season was leaked so the fact Luke wasn’t is even more amazing.

This is interesting and he is pretty:

This I'm not so sure about even though I know for now it's just fan talk. I love Sebastian. I truly do. He stole my heart as Hatter and kept it as Bucky and I've enjoyed him in other roles as well. I guess I see the resemblance but I'm not sure if he could fall into the role for me. But there are worse choices I'm sure (see: Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo). And a part of me would probably really enjoy seeing him and Donald Glover (because he was perfect) in something Star Wars together!:

I honestly wonder if they’ll do anything further with Luke (and Grogu) in this time period.
Grogu, I think yes. I don't think Mando's promise to Grogu that they will see each other again was just for his benefit, but for the audience's as well. Grogu is important to Din, and we'll get to see more of it. Luke, is harder because I don't think they want this to be more Skywalker saga. But at the same time, just as you might get married and start a family doesn't mean your parents and grandparents cease to exist. You see them from time to time, and they can still impact the direction your life takes you. Skywalkers, Solos, Thrawn, Emperor Clone are around somewhere. So I wouldn't be surprised if we see Luke again (although, I think if we do, that will precipitate a recast. This episode gave happy closure to Mark so it allows for the opportunity for him to leave Luke behind. Although, I could also see if they could find an agreeable actor, to still dub in Mark's voice)... but I also wouldn't be surprised if we didn't...on this show.

As for Grogu's future, I can see two paths. One is that like other MIA Jedi, he disappears into the Universe. Maybe what's best for him will be to find his species' home planet or a home planet for him and leave the humanoid politics and Jedi training behind. Maybe his blood is too important and for his safety he needs to be away. Some reason for him to move beyond all of this. Second, tragedy is in his future. I don't think it will be at Ben's hands, though, but involving whatever happens with Din. By telling us that Grogu has had many masters, I think was a tell that his Jedi education may not need to take that long, and so he will have left Luke's Academy by the time Ben destroys it. Ben Solo supposedly is born 5 years after RotJ, the show is 5 years after RotJas well. Unless, there is a huge time jump at some point Ben will still be a kid by the time this show concludes, and they won't keep Grogu away that long. I semi expect that we'll find out his species has a growth spurt depending on how much control of the Force they have. His growth was stunted, so he remained a baby. But Din's love and Luke's training will have unlocked his true potential. So he can reappear as an older, able to speak and participate in the fight version (that hopefully still sells merchandise well).

Also unknown (warning fan-fiction ahead:p), is how much and in which show Filoni wants to try and fix sequel issues. Maybe, we see cute Ben ala Jake Lloyd Anakin. Maybe, he really bonds with Grogu and gets really upset that he's gone and blames Luke. Maybe Luke blames himself for whatever might happen to Grogu too. Maybe, that leaves them both fragile and distrustful, setting the stage for what happens next. But anything like this, I don't think that will be the point of The Mandalorian, but may play out elsewhere at another time.

Indeed, after Order 66 everyone thought all Jedi were dead, but there was Yoda, and Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka, and Kanan, and whoever more is needed for surprise plot points. If they secretly survived the purge, who knows which students of Luke were able to hide and run and be presumed dead by Luke. It's not like Luke made it easy for any secret survivors to find him.

Why did ashoka know of this jedi beacon temple yet other jedi didn’t or chose to stay hidden all this time?

right bow the biggest disappointment for me from this grogu arc is we never got to hear more about “his kind” or his homeworld... instead had to trade his kind for jedi

I don't want to know more about Yoda's species. let it be a mystery. I would have liked to have known a tad more about Baby Yoda himself but the name of his spieces of their life spans etc can remain a mystery for all I care.

I don’t go on Reddit...ever...with the except of getting the spoilers for game of thrones Season 6 and 7 and “episodes” 8 and 9

They were dead on...all the leaks...like it was an inside job?

What did all those things have in common that this episode of Mando didn’t? That might be why this wasn’t spoiled.
