Why did ashoka know of this jedi beacon temple yet other jedi didn’t or chose to stay hidden all this time?

right bow the biggest disappointment for me from this grogu arc is we never got to hear more about “his kind” or his homeworld... instead had to trade his kind for jedi

I wouldn’t be surprised if they intended on doing that and then changed course??

As far as the Jedi goes...they need them for the universe...period. No debate. Everytime they try to marginalize or redefine them...it falls flat.
The “Jedi in hiding” thing is something filoni has heavily leaned in on that may not be a wise course story wise...

The other thing they setup but can’t explain (yet): who smuggled him out of that temple and hid him??

Kinda a big missing piece.

I don't want to know more about Yoda's species. let it be a mystery. I would have liked to have known a tad more about Baby Yoda himself but the name of his spieces of their life spans etc can remain a mystery for all I care.

I think they teased it but either changed course or were never gonna reveal it. That’s also a huge potential story element to hold for down the road

This is what I took from the trailer as well. It doesn’t make sense to release 2 similar Star Wars shows at the same time.

Imo, Grogu must die eventually though.. they have to stay within the constraints of the timeline, and he wasn’t in the latest trilogy. Or maybe not.. and someday they’ll come out with a Kylo Ren series (as Ben Skywalker), and Grogu dies in that. I don’t know how else to explain why he wasn’t in The Force Awakens.

Yeah, no one of Grogu's species has ever gone into exile during periods of massive conflict to avoid attention, have they?

I would argue the opposite - Grogu will live and some day we'll get some series/movie/whatever based on 500 year old Grogu in the distant future free from all of the main saga entanglements.

I don’t know if you noticed...but not even bob Iger is down with any of that stuff.

“Let the past business miscalculations die”
...wasn’t that the line?

I mean, he’d be 65 and Yoda was 100 when he started being able to train Jedi himself.

“For 800 years I have trained Jedi, keep my own council on who to train.”

“When 900 years old you reach, look this good you will not!”

Grogu should at least be the equivalent of a teenager or something soon.
I get that, but in this situation Grogu has had very little formal training. So I would doubt he would have the skills at the time of the falling to be a real asset. Heck, he can't even talk yet. In my mind it makes the most sense to hide him away like Luke and Leia, just in case of failure. Of course my point was more to illustrate why he wouldn't need to die. I'm sure Jon and Dave already have an end scenario already penned out.

I was talking mostly about physical growth. I’m guessing Yoda was an adult at 100 when he started training others as a master so Grogu is going to have to be noticeably older by the time of the fall (if we even see him) otherwise things are going to start contradicting each other.

I don't think he has to die just because he wasn't in the sequels. Star wars has a history of hiding characters of importance. At the time of Luke's Jedi academy falling, Grogu would be what, only 15yrs older, max? He wouldn't be able to help anyway as 15yrs to Grogu would be like a 5yr old aging a year. I'm sure they could come up with something. Grogu is off world with the Mando at the time the academy falls is a simple solution. It would be a segways to ep10 if they wanted. Rey, finds a holocron of Luke's, it gives information on where to find Grogu... There would be plenty of ways to explain him not being in the sequels in my opinion.

I agree Ashoka wasn’t in the original trilogy and survived its events. Star Wars is a big galaxy and I’m sure they can find a way to keep Grogu safe and well. If he was killed off it would be an even bigger upset than Bambi’s mother!

I never really took Yodas numbers too literally from an accuracy standpoint. Was he 900, 950, 980... Same goes for when he started training people. Let's say he was 800ish years ago when he started training, that could make a big difference depending on his actual age of death. He could have been closer to the 200yr mark. When you're that old, I'm sure timelines blur together a bit anyway. Unfortunately star wars has a very rich history of contradicting itself. Lol

You know...they could account for absences from the main timeline by doing show(s) about the war in more distant places? Call it “outer rim” or something like that...

There’ll probably be a trailer on Monday football or something 🤪

Love this show so much. Really looking forward to Series 3 and the Book of Boba Fett

Do you think they will be 2 separate shows? Does anyone know for sure?

My opinion is the Book of Boba Fett is Season 3 Mandalorian.. but I could be completely wrong.

I do think there’s a Mado dark saber story, or maybe him finding who he’s supposed to be without his former tribe., it’s just surprising that both would come out at the exact same time.. if they were staggered, then there wouldn’t be such a long break in between Star Wars shows, and I would think it could get more people to stay subscribed if that’s their main reason for being there.

Thank you. I wonder if it could possibly be a movie?

Am I the only one who thinks it’s strange to have these two shows streaming at the same time? Sidenote- We barely have time to watch The Mandalorian before seeing spoilers, I can’t imagine my family is unique in that.
Though just from a subscription standpoint, it would make more sense to split.. unless Disney doesn’t have subscribers who are canceling, which is a possibility too.

The economic fallout is predicted to knock the two largest chains of movie theaters out.

We’re not in Kansas anymore...and Disney knows it and is adjusting

I meant a Disney + original, not a box office movie. They did a wonderful job with Togo, haven’t seen the others, but I’ll assume those were done just as well, specifically for Disney+

Perhaps...

But we have to ask if it makes sense to drop $150,000,000 plus on a production budget anymore? For a stream movie?

You cut out the middle man costs...but you can’t charge $16 a click to view...

There are no right answers...we’ll have to see
