Splash Mountain still on schedule?

Does anyone know if it's going to be one big lap bar across or are they making it 2 per row only now? I used to see a lot of parents take their kids with them in the same row and sit them between them. Will this deter that from happening?

If you do a quick photo search in google you'll find a picture of the lap bars (or at least a proto-type of them). If they end up like the ones in that picture then it will be two individual lap bars per row. It seems to me that adding the lap bars will decrease hourly capacity and create more headaches than having to shut the mountain down periodically to chase down some punk kid.

Do that many people exit the logs a day?

Side note: I fail to see how a lap bar makes it harder to lift your shirt up. :lookaroun

Yea, I saw the photo posted a few months back but I guess I was just hoping it was just a prototype and that they would come up with something different. Oh well... if that's the case I guess I should hit the FPs on that a little sooner than I normally do. It's gonna end up being the Soarin' of the MK. Even though it sorta already is, it'll be worse. :lookaroun:(

Maybe they have a plan in order so it won't be so bad. Guess I'll just have to see for myself this June. :D

Side note to your side note: Me either, but if I was the PhotoPass operator I would not mind so much.

I guess it was an Internet fallacy, the commonly held belief that there were safety issues in the inclusion of a lapbar on a water ride.

That's why they're there, to keep people in their seats. Splash is notorious for intrusions.

Still, I heard the whole fleet of logs would not get them this year. Just a few. EE any more info?

Well, a friend saw several being worked on. It is possible that it is, just a few, for now. We shall see. I'm trying to contact said friend/source, but he's not answering.:lol:

Yea I guess thats why because idiots have to be idiots. But outside of that, lapbars seem like it'll destroy the notion of it being a log flume. I can see if it were a regular boat, but I dont know. I guess its a way and see thing.

I dont see a need for them. UGH. Anyone have a picture?

They had a camera crew filming there in Dec when I was on the ride, perhaps investigating Flash Mountain? LOL I never heard that name until I read it here.

Eh...lapbars on Splash will be annoying.

But...it could be worse. (See: Plunge, Perilous)

Was in the MK tonight (Saturday) and noticed that all the scaffolding around the mountain was gone...looks like its ready for water. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Figures a few idiots can't stay in the boat and now everyone has to have lap bars now. I am not sure how I am going to be able to duck the splash now.
