I saw two cars completely finished except for one which needs the bumper carved. That bumper was just sitting next to the car. They both looked completely brand spanking new.

So does this mean we're getting a completely new set of logs rather than just adding in lap bars? Interesting...

That's a nice little shot. Good to see water running in there again. Looked a little barren without it.....

Ah Splash after a refurb.:)

Nothing better. Honestly, the way that ride looks every year should be proof enough that every major attraction should go down once a year for preventative maintenance and show touch ups.

Agreed. Looks like they repainted the edge of the flume in that picture and it looks great. I thought Splash was looking pretty good when I was on it in December; I can only imagine how nice it must look now. :)

Central Shops' fiberglass machine was at full steam, so I can only assume the outsides at least are going to be all new, just like the new SM cars supposedly.

Saw logs running today....looked like they had most of them back in the water. They were running some of the water filled test dummies in the logs. I can't say that I saw any new lapbars tho.

I don't care about any schedule.

I just want to know if they took the time to clean/disinfect the plastic handrails on the logs? Sweat/BO of tens of thousands of people isn't really something I enjoy taking with me when I get off the ride ...

The lap bars might be hard to see from the walking areas around the ride. I don't think they would be putting in the test dummies if they didn't change anything, so they must of had the lap bars in them.

I dunno, the lapbars also added a lot of black to the log, I feel like it would be noticeable.

Yeah maybe. I'm more going with the fact of the test dummies. They don't put them in the logs after every refurb do they? It would seem as if something must of changed in the vehicle in order for them to test with dummies..

ok....I know at first read this may sound completely absurd but soak it in and digest it first. My fiancee brought something up to me a ccouple of weeks ago when I mentioned all the refurbs that were going on in January really made me think (and it hurt...)

Close the entire WDW for the month of January (starting on the 2nd). At first thought everyone is saying the loss of money, etc... makes it unrealistic but it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as one may think. All staff would be part of the refurbs right down to the cleaning, detailing and perhaps small painting jobs. No worries about putting up the walls let alone making them look good. There could be lots of focus on the details, take the xmas decorations down and each ride gets some TLC.

There are lots of positives about this....least of which nobody gets their first pic on Main St with the wonderful crane in the shot behind the castle.
