Long story short, in another thread where the majority of the conversation is now deleted, some folks were upset/triggered/annoyed/shocked when I said that Los Angeles and Orlando are incomparable cities. Folks used that to call back to the notion that Californians think they’re better, and I got called an “elitist,” despite the fact that I said nothing bad about Orlando or any of the 49 other states. So, I changed my name to the thing folks in that thread saw me as and wanted me to be.

It’s personally funny to me, but I will probably change my name back at some point.

I think the problem is that when you type up "Splash Mountain" on Google, one of the top results is "Splash Mountain Racist."

I think Disney in the future doesn't want people to be thinking AT ALL about Song of the South, so they want to remove all ties to the name of an iconic ride that was themed after Song of the South.

Exactly. Keeping “Splash Mountain” in the title contradicts the reason why the ride is going in the first place. Disney wants to cuts all ties.

• Tiana's Bayou Falls
• Mardi Gras Mountain
• Tiana's Bayou Splash

Bayou Falls are real places too, Mint Springs Bayou Falls in Mississippi and Frog Bayou Falls in Arkansas. Albeit not 50 ft falls… but still a real thing.

And the name serves as a double meaning as well.

As a break from the previous theme, "splash" and "mountain" are right out. Especially 'mountain.' It didn't make sense to call it 'mountain' the first time around.

"Falls" is problematic if the new ride has no falls. For all we know, the story of the chute could be a giant wave and not because of falling down anything. If the descent is a one-time thing in the story of the ride... then there are no falls.

Tiana = The protagonist is upfront and center, which is the intention of choosing her. Using "Princess and the Frog" in the title would be way too much considering people think TBA is already too much.​

Bayou = In place of "splash" indicating it's a wet ride, we have "bayou" indicating it's a wet ride. This is also place-setting (albeit, more important for DL than MK).​

Adventure = It's a ride. A thrilling one because of the drop. It's not Tiana's slow boat ride. It's not Tiana's restaurant or a Tiana M&G.​

The concern over the title is full of high drama despite being relatively unimportant. Is this what we can be looking forward to for the next two years. That all those who didn't want a retheme will be picking apart minutiae? To what end? Convince WDW to scrap the retheme? That ain't gonna happen.

Gosh I hope not. We haven't even started mentioning the fact some fireflies are cannibals, and the whole thing about them all working together in harmony was a bunch of malarkey.

Whipped this logo up in about 20 mins in Photoshop. They could've used this name in reference to the fact there's several drops and the new theme. It's a win-win.

You might as well name it The Princess and the Bog.

Screens *can* be fine. But, to me, you lose an important dimension to it all. Our brains perceptively register you’re watching a screen, and keeps you from fully buying in to the experience. At some point, why not just watch ride videos?
