Right at the top of each article, they're both sourced to TheDailyMeal.com. And the same article is on their main page as well.I don't have a lot of time at the moment, but this was pointed out to me earlier today and I thought some if you might find this...odd.
The same story, about Disney Dining, from both Fox News (*spits*) and USA Today.
Clearly it's a planted story, that's obvious.
But shared between two major, and totally seperate, news outlets?
Strikes me as a bit off...

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I'm not ready to write Lone Ranger off so quickly. I think its success will largely hinge on reviews and word of mouth, much like the first Pirates.
In terms of marketing, Disney has been treating it as if expectations are high. (I suppose it could conversely be said that marketing is being used to prop up the movie.)
I'm starting to think maybe you're first year B School. It's the only logical explanation. And it's OK. You're not supposed to know it all in college. You're just supposed to think you do.
Side note: you've hit your allowable quota on "lol" for all of 2013 today.![]()
Interesting.
I was unaware either outlet bought articles like that.

Every major news outlet does this. Most minor papers buy wire stories, too.
Calling a transaction between WDW Marketing and WDW Food & Beverage "intercompany" is like calling a flight from JFK to MCO "international".In accounting, the term used is "intercompany" as in between two different companies that are both subsidiaries of the same corporation, also typically used even when doing entries between 2 divisions that are not legally separate subs. I have never heard an accountant talk about "intra-company" entries.
You know, you might want to consider taking Lazyboy off ignore. The clever boy had it all figured out already (and in one go too, we'll call him a media expert!). All of us had already read everything about it in the post directly above yours, making the sight of you slowly figuring it out too look a bit silly.I'm gonna stand up for my friend AJ here. AJ runs DisneyFoodBlog.com and rather sucessfully. AJ is very fair and plays it down the middle here. Disney dining is their fortè. AJ is not a "plant."
EDIT: Actually... AJ wrote it for someone else (TheDailyMeal) and both USAT & Fox picked it up. Its a fluff piece and props for The Daily Meal for selling their content twice!
If anything, its a larger look at how consolidated reporting and writing is becoming, with more and more outlets relying on a very select set of people to fill their content. If USAT or Fox wanted something original rather than a wire piece, they'd have sent someone to cover it.
Either way, its like a wire service story running in both NYT & WaPo. No big deal.
While we're on the subject of Box Office retruns, does anyone know if Oz is out in China yet? Couldn't easily find that one out.
This is just pathetic…

It seems Disney is doing a heavy marketing campaign up in the Northeast these days via radio and tv ads for the upcoming 'Monsterous Summer' campaign.
In the past i do not recall such 'discounts' being offered during the prime Summer months, and it has been a long time since i have heard ads on the radio up in these parts. I noticed this radio blitz last week and every day since then i have heard the same ads several times. Usually it is during the winter months when marketing kicks in up in these parts, but this Summer is being marketed in a similar way now.
The impression i am getting is that WDW is having trouble getting rooms booked this Summer. Not sure if this is the actual case, but the sudden marketing push for what is usually their busy season made me question if they are having some issues.
Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
