So about 4-5 years from now?Disney construction time is slower than real time. So 1 Disney construction day equals about a week in real time.

You've never noticed it likely because they painted it sky blue and it just blends in if you aren't looking for it, or don't know it is where it is.That is crazy I never realized how much of soaring you could see, I have never seen that sight line, to work as hard as they say they did to blend TT they did very little here, but like I said I have never seen it
Well that explains it thanksYou've never noticed it likely because they painted it sky blue and it just blends in if you aren't looking for it, or don't know it is where it is.
Yes!Unlike some other attractions it is the same thing over and over so even if you could ride it three or four times would you?
That's what I call Cranial Command!Picture of the crane working on the new theater:

Behold! My fantastic camera work! This is probably the worst picture I've ever taken...and it contributes nearly nothing to this conversation...but it is a picture of the crane.
Similar to trees.Disney construction time is slower than real time. So 1 Disney construction day equals about a week in real time.
That's being optimistic! So about 4-5 years from now?
To comments about demand for a fourth theater etc. Soarn has a huge demand but even if you had unlimited capacity you would only want to ride it so many times per day. Unlike some other attractions it is the same thing over and over so even if you could ride it three or four times would you?
Obviously adding variety would change that... But a healthy line is a good thing for Disney. Just not too much of a line that it ****es people off.
Hm, as far as I can see, many other popular attractions are the same thing over and over, and people have been known to spend all day going on them repeatedly: ToT, RnR, The mountains: BTMRR, Splash, Space, Everest, 7 Dwarves... why not Soarin'?
Well, there is an element that it has along with the rest of the more popular attractions and that is that it is fun and calmly exhilarating. More physical experiences may be important to you, but, not to everyone. If they like it they want to do it again. It's a simple and successful formula. Some offer variety.. some offer such great depth that re-rides let you see more and more each time that you didn't see... some are more phyiscal experiences so you re-ride to get the same physical 'payout' again.. Soarin' has a physical element but on its own its nothing.. its the combination of sound, sight, and your physical setting that make it 'work'.
I'm not trying to say 'why would you re-ride soarin' - I'm saying you wouldn't keep doing it over and over and over. The net result, the quicker you can cycle through the ride, the quicker you have expended the ride's 'value' for you in the park.. and quickly turn to other things. Do that enough, and you have the situation where people go "I finish everything I want to do in a half day..." and people don't stay in the parks and moan about wanting more added.
Soarin is very visible from almost everywhere, but, as I suspected and posted back in 2004, it ended up blending with the sky just enough so it doesn't jump out at you. Just like I can spend all day in Epcot and not see the Swan or Dolphin even though they are in plain sight. They are not my focal point and therefore even if I see them my brain doesn't register anything other then I am in WDW and there are lots of things there that might come into my line of sight. That is crazy I never realized how much of soaring you could see, I have never seen that sight line, to work as hard as they say they did to blend TT they did very little here, but like I said I have never seen it

Don't forget No-See-Um Gray and Run Away Red...the colors of the door to Club 33 in Disneyland and areas of the Splash Mountain show building, respectively.I LOVE THIS. I have a training with some folks Wednesday, and am so telling them this one.
Because we all need more pictures of a crane:
From the bridge/sidewalk from the parking lot to the Beach Club Resort
I have wondered if any of the rooms there are tall enough to offer a view of the construction. I suppose the interstitial trees are too high or there would be bloggers regularly posting pictures...
