Shookie Hates Walt Disney World

Only because I'm not there. ;)

So I did the PTR - I did the LTR - Now it's time for the ROTR (Regular Old Trip Report)
Lots of awesome trip reports around here many from the same time I was there so I will
try to keep this sweet and to the point without too much babble.....(that's going to be hard for me).

CM made us some sweet birthday pins and for some reason an anniversary pin......she did such a good job I didn't have the heart to tell her...Our room was ready.

I was late for the Pre-Trip Report. But I'm on time for this one. And I didn't buy the title for a second, but nice try!

Great start so far. Great for the bounce back. We will be at the Contemporary next year and can't wait. Garden view, but it saves a lot of money, and we have no offers or codes to use. Lucky you! True Disney geeks, love it.

Yeah did not care for the CBR at all. We've stayed at "big" resorts (PORS)...but NOTHING was like this...it takes 5 minutes just to get to the entrance!! We just didn't like the overall vibe of the place for some reason..... having the lobby and pool \food in two separate areas it was just too much.

We booked the Contemporary...MK view.....NOW..the thing is --- the possibility of us actually staying there are very slim. We probably can't come up with the money in time and we were not real crazy about the September weather - I think we were just so spoiled by May..hot in the sun -- cool in the shade and blue skies 24/7.
Now that did not stop me from putting 200 bucks down for the dream vacation spot with free dining for next September\October mind you...
I figured it can't hurt right!??

Day 2

Don't know if I mentioned this but this was a very weird trip for us..A little disjointed I think --- maybe postponing our trip from May and changing resorts - we were late to few ADRs.
I usually chronicle a good portion of every trip with the video cam...this year the camcorder didn't leave the bag..like I said disjointed..Oh well Not bad by any stretch of the imagination..just weird.

Ok so not many pics from our first half day at DHS (morning EMH)..but I did manage some cupcake shots see below and enjoy:

Look at this set up..the sandwiches were pretty excellent I got the ham everyone else got the turkey..My wife and son scraped off the good stuff as usual
and Avery and I ate everything. What's amazing about this lunch on the DDP is that you get that "little" gem in the background as a dessert.

We were psyched to ride ST 2.0 and it did NOT disappoint. Love the different sequence combinatios although we did get the same ending one everytime - we did get Vader in one of the openings!
AWESOME.

Time to make some droids of our own...

The only thing impressive about my score is that I beat my video gaming son..yeah bragging rights. although it was at the cost of my shoulder...totally worth it.

Ok so as I said strange trip. I don't have anymore photos from DHS..we did hit RNRC a couple of times as well as going back to ToT another half dozen times but nothing more to speak of really..
It was BLAZING hot....so what did we decide to do? Go to the hottest park around...AK...did I mention everything was a little "off" this trip?

Loving the report Shookie!! You have a gorgeous family. I think it might be federally mandated that teenagers don't smile when asked to do so by their parents, lol. Can't wait to read the rest.

Ha! I have proof that I was at WDW!! Unfortunately it was while I was wearing this super thin shirt and sweating ..it accentuates my awesome gut that was growing by the day and further emphasized by the Red velvet cupcake I killed an hour earlier...

It was not crowded at all because everyone else in the world knows to stay away from AK when it's 90 degrees and humid...me I'm new to WDW so....
Just to prove how hot it was - there is ALWAYS someone sitting in this viewing area...ALWAYS...However it was in direct sun and no one dared -- so it made for a nice unobstructed photo

So I finally got Pace to smile...How you might ask...well as we were waiting in EE queue he decided he would practice his parkour skills and climb on the wall....
I noticed..."ahhh yeah none of that partner get down right now"....."Ok dad..." time for a dramatic dismount.....unfortunately his new sunglasses dismounted a half second before him and came right down on top of them...:

Sucks that he busted his new glasses -- great that it made him smile. I think everyone else in line enjoyed it too..especially the people who were probably thinking "Oh my god they let their kids climb all over everything..." Not that we do...but if they were thinking that..they must have thought..."See that's what you get" LOL....

I'm embarrassed to say that this was our one and only trip to AK we did Dinosaur but we didn't do it's tough to be bug -one of my wife's faves...
Like I said weird trip.

As mentioned we were late to a few ADRs this year but we made it on time to this one.
This ranks right up there with the first ride on the TTA as my favorite WDW family moments :
