Shookie Hates Walt Disney World

Only because I'm not there. ;)

So I did the PTR - I did the LTR - Now it's time for the ROTR (Regular Old Trip Report)
Lots of awesome trip reports around here many from the same time I was there so I will
try to keep this sweet and to the point without too much babble.....(that's going to be hard for me).

When: September 27th - October 4th

Who: Enzo Tina Avery Pace

On our way:

Getting a little closer:

Everyone's first monorail ride when you fly into Orlando (for us that "we're there!" moment)

Doing my best to not get a speeding ticket at this point:

Not too many things beat this feeling:

First (and last) time at the CBR:

This supposedly speeds things up but never does...

CM made us some sweet birthday pins and for some reason an anniversary pin......she did such a good job I didn't have the heart to tell her...Our room was ready.

Sweet:

Even Sweeter:

Day 4
Sunday was the second of our Universal days.

As chronicled above Saturday was a very “Ying” day for Avery..everything was going right and on point..Harry Potter, Hayley Williams, delicious meal.

I used the phrase in my LTR and I’ll use it again..”Oh how the mighty have fallen” here is the flip side of Ying. Ladies and Gentleman I present you with some major Yang:

IMG_4802

Yeah she was sick all night on Saturday (Sunday early morning). However on Sunday she got dressed and tried to make a go of it. Amazingly she made it all the way to the bridge before Suess landing. Unfortunately that's where she stayed.
Tina and I switched out going to WWoHP with Pace but ultimately Tina ended up taking a cab and heading back to CBR with Avery in hopes that Avery would feel better for MNSSHP. Little dude and I spent the rest of the day riding water rides at IoA and then a quick jaunt to US for the Mummy and the new despicable me ride. We wanted to ride Rip Rocket but it was down the entire time. We walked the ‘city streets’ for a while.
I have to say Universal does this sooo well. We really enjoyed ourselves just taking pics and looking around. We then grabbed some burgers at Richters and headed for home to see how Avery was and to get ready for MNSSHP. Here is some pics of our last Universal day:

Captain America was able to get it together for MNSSHP so we had some fun: Avengers Assemble! –

IMG_0340 (2)
First we stopped for some eats…for SOME REASON Avery didn’t want to join us for supper

IMG_0349
The pulled pork dog…(thanks to @crushdude! For recommending this bad boy) wow was it good.

MNSSHP was sold out and I thought it would be packed – It rained a bit during the night so maybe it kept some people away..I don’t know – but it wasn’t packed at all --we rode every ride as many times as we wanted and waits for the characters didn’t seem that bad either.

****(Sorry for the quality of the pics to follow)
Haunted Mansion looked awesome as expected.

She was a nice addition and not too shabby with the quips either.

IMG_0357 (2)

We came off the ride and she was now just outside the unloading area on a garbage can..sitting perfectly still and scaring the cr*p out of everyone…

IMG_0378
I was wondering why she was there and not on the lawn then I realized..it was pouring…on with the ponchos.
It rained on an off for about an hour or so…I don’t know how people handle those ponchos.
I tried but the minute I put it on I instantly start overheating....I can only where them for a few minutes at a time.
Here is an interesting shot I took while we sitting under the overhang by the restrooms (near merchant of venus) waiting for the rain to die down: cool moon, creepy clouds, funky tomorrowland trees, Awesome attraction – Bad camera. …eh the thought was there – hopefully I’ll get points for style.

Hallowishes was pretty sweet. Loved the soundtrack.

Tried to meet up with @derelicte19 and fam..but it was not to be we kept missing each other. It was a long night so we decided to try to meet up at Epcot next day.

It was a loooong day and we headed for home and even with the dilemma of Avery feeling sick and having to go home --- we made a time of it and headed back to the room to get some sleep and get up early for Epcot’s 30th……ah another strange day behind us!!

NOPE! Not so fast. I got back to the room and realized my wallet was missing.
I won’t get into detail as I covered it in my LTR..but my worry wasn’t that someone wouldn’t turn my wallet in --- it was that it would get thrown away. Why? I have a "mighty" wallet..this is what it looks like:

IMG_5085

Yeah the tyvek thing in the middle that looks like a folded up park map…
Anyway got it back and I was asleep by 2:30 am --- crisis averted.

Next up – Day 5 -- Epcot 30th

Great report....Fantastic Pictures..its funny how many of us have stood in that exact spot over the last month...

You're right -- like 50% Of the people on this board! :)

We're going back forth between going in May or September again.
I think ultimately finances will decide our fate.

The costumes are great. Glad Avery was starting to feel better and it didn't last too long.

Let me ask you...Is your wife just as big of a Disney freak as you? How about you kids?

Go during the first 2 weeks of May! We've been to Disney twice now at this time, and the crowds are very low! We never waited for more than a 1/2 hour for anything at every park!

Loved the LTR and this, too. :)

I tried the pulled prok dog at Casey's...two of us ordered them. We should have ordered just one. Freaking HUGE amount of food. It's like a hot dog buried under mounds of pulled pork! I got mine without the slaw...that one was even bigger!

It was the first time I ever had a dog with stuff piled on it, lol. It was a fun experience! Won't make it a regular thing, but it was totally a good time...and not bad food!!

How have I missed this TR?! Got all caught up and loving it! Great pics! My mouth is watering thinking about cupcakes and Butterbeer. I'm so jealous of your almost-empty Hogwarts pictures. Yep, I'm a nerd. And proud. :) Can't wait to see more!

Thank you!

I have to say I'm quite lucky. My wife LOVES Disney. No where near the NERD that I am, but she loves everything about the place.
I took her for her first time when we were first dating.

She liked it right off the bat and her love for it grew year after year.
Kind of the way she feels about me ( I hope ). ;)

She is NOT a thrill ride type of person but WDW is only theme park ANYWHERE that she will EVER go on a rollercoaster - RNR and BTMR are two of her favorite rides.

It's got to the point where she insisted we spend a little extra dough this year on WDW souvenirs (totally not what we normally do).
We racked up quite a bill at the Art of Disney shops this year.
I'll show you pics of the items we purchased at the end of the TR.

My wife (aka SweetEvangeline) is almost at the same level of Disney freakness that I am. She wan't to go to the beach this year, but I was able to talk her out of it last March when they came out with the free dining offer for September. It was just my DW, DD and myself and we had such a blast. I think we enjoyed ourselves more this year because we made a point to get to the parks early then head back to ASMusic to send a little time at the pool and relax.

Can't wait to see what you bought from the Art of Disney! I was so close to buying a picture this year. I as going to buy one of the lesser expensive prints which was around $40. Maybe next time.

May is the time of year we have gone EVERY single year we've been going as a family.
We were completely spoiled. The weather is always amazing and the crowds are light.
We did feel like the September crowds were somewhat comparable but the weather stunk!

LOVE ME SOME BUTTERBEER GOOD GOD!

Can't beat that rope drop! We had the early entry because we get a cheap hotel room (that we don't use) from one of the sister hotels.

Thanks for reading!

That beauty was better than expected. Everything I love about a a pulled porked sandwich on a hot dog!
Wow.

I have to say I don't usually enjoy hot dogs UNLESS they have stuff piled on 'em.

Any time a spouse is even willing to deal with our Disney nutiness we have to consider ourselves lucky - let alone having some love for it too.

BEACH!?? What's that!?? LOL...We usually fit a beach weekend in to our plans maybe to the Cape or something.
But if it's an either or I'm at the World EVERY TIME!

Let me tell you something, for the amount of times we've gone to WDW..you wouldn't know it by being in our house. We have had NO pictures of us at the world out in frames --no trinkets NOTHING.

We took our best friends with us a couple of years back and they have all this art work and picture frames at their house from their trip. They do well for themselves so spending the extra dough didn't hurt them.
We've always spent all our money on having fun while on vacation and aside from WDW clothing..no real souvenirs came home.
We decided that this year we'd go the extra mile and bring some WDW magic home with us.;)
We got a few nice trinkets and it's worth it to look around our living room and remember how much fun we had!
