Not only is it a home run, its out of the park, and I have quite high standards..............nothing else in the last few years, in any park anywhere, comes close it this combination of a Disney classic and E ticket theming , innovation and overall design.

They may have started to build a D ticket, but the imaginers have delivered a instant classic E ticket.

Well done Disney, We will be looking for more of the same.

1: It was never intended to be thrilling. It's always been touted as a "Family Coaster".

2: It was never intended to be a "Potter Swatter".

This has been repeated ad nauseum on these boards (and elsewhere) for the past couple of years but some people still haven't gotten the memo. It's a beautifully themed attraction that was designed to appeal to families. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I, for one can't wait to squeeze my 53 year old fat butt into it next January and I don't even have any kids.

I'm sure a lot of us have seen a full video of the new ride by now on youtube.

If not and you dont mind spoilers here is one...

What are everyones thoughts so far? Im a little let down its not a little more thrilling of a ride ( its far less tame then Space or Thunder Mountain ) but the animatronics are mind blowing. The colors and sounds when going through the mine from what we see in these videos looks awesome.

The video in the OP is one of the earlier ones and the music was out of sync. This one should give a better impression of the attraction as well as the queue.

Dumbo isn't all the exciting of a ride, but is still considered a "classic" by many, many, many people.

Dumbo is a classic because it has been there forever. It's iconic. It was used in all of Disney's advertising for years. I doubt anyone would have called it an instant classic when it made its debut.

I'm all for praising the Mine Train for what it gets right. But "instant classic" just seems like foaming.

Like some people have said, they delivered exactly what they said. Granted it was 3 years to get a kiddie coaster with some fun elements... I agree, with those people, Disney set the bar really low and they met their expectations. I don't know that they need big and bad because I think youre implying that it needs to be a super thrill ride. I would be happy for an amazingly themed dark ride with great elements like a haunted mansion for the future.
I didn't word my thoughts rite. They need another Mission Space, Test Track, Soarin, Tower of Terror type of ride. Something exciting.

It's exactly what we were expecting, I think it is a lovely ride far better than mermaid in it's dark ride aspects however short they are. It almost makes me wonder what would have happened if this entire attraction was just a dark ride using the same space, but I digress. The ride works but as someone mentioned on here it's not enough of a coaster and not enough of a dark ride needs more of both. While I know it's impossible for them to improve the coaster segments I do hope sometime in the future one more show scene is added on the outside portion of the track.

I agree they do need something like that but they also need to stop being lazy on the non thrill rides. Disney world barely had any substantial drops in any of their rides until splash mountain. It was still the best theme park in the world. I could also argue that the drops on any of the rides you mentiones are not the reason they are great. Any carnival ride can give you a thrill but only disney saw past that for a long time. Now it seems everyone else does it better.

I can't tell you how fantastic it would have been for a people over type vehicle weaving in and out of the mine. It would have been more expensive but just a better ride hands down.

Great video - thanks for sharing. And the AA are amazing. I'm so excited and I hope that we will luck out and get a ride over the Memorial Day weekend - since we are coming back 2 days before the official opening date. :(

I guess I am a bit confused. Is a good chunk of the coaster time spent at a crawl speed inside the mountain?

Are the people on the coaster the media folk and their families?

By video my favorite part is the cottage at the end.
