Can't you just go enjoy the Country Bears without bringing race into it? Is everything about race these days? I have always enjoyed it and have no idea how you would sleep through that attraction. If you don't like it move on, there enough other attractions you can visit that you may enjoy. This one is a classic. Hasn't Disney gotten rid of enough classics already, Mr Toad, Skyway, 20,000 leagues, Snow White. Then I was informed that DLR no longer has their Wedway.
Well said my friend.

A few years ago there was a heated thread about the CBJ where this one woman swore up and down that the Blood on the Saddle song was about Aunt Flo.

It got quite humorous....then locked.

They are racist looking, creepy, stereotyped rednecks and not sure how they are still in business.

According to Dictionary.com....
red·neck

  <a onmousedown="spk(this,{lk:'nx1fkx',en:'wotdau',io:'0',b:'wotd',tp:'lrl',m:'wotdau'})" href="#"></a><a target="_blank" href="http://dictionary.reference.com/audio.html/lunaWAV/R01/R0135300"><img border="0" src="http://static.sfdict.com/dictstatic/g/d/speaker.gif"></a>
noun
1. an uneducated white farm laborer, especially from the South.
2. a bigot or reactionary, especially from the rural working class.
3. Also, red-necked . narrow, prejudiced, or reactionary: a redneck attitude. Synonyms: biased, narrow-minded, intolerant.

Which really paints a Negative view on your post above... not trying to be mean or anything....but your use of redneck in the context of your post is offensive.

Sorry, but I agree the show should be closed. We saw it for the first time last year and underwhelmed would be an understatement! I'd seen so many posts about people who love this show and, quite frankly, I couldn't believe this was the show they were talking about. It's so hokey I was amazed for all the wrong reasons. I wish it would be replaced or even updated with a major refurbishment would be nice.

The tiki room is the prime example of what would happen if everything went back to walt's plan. Now it is a place for a lot of people to take a nap...which is fine but i'd rather have something entertaining with the option to take a nap than something so boring that it puts you to sleep and you know it going in. Walt was a genius and a visionary, but 50 years of technology have passed since then and if he were alive today he'd have used every new trick in the book making it cutting edge.
!

Seriously?!??!?! At Disneyland the show is always packed and lively... and since the conversion back to "mostly being the original" show at the Magic Kingdom the show is always pretty close to capacity and lively too...

So if YOU and a person here and there wants to take a nap then Go For it.. but the MASS Majority of us ENJOY the Tiki Room, CBJ, and the CoP..... If you dont like it then please go find another of the many attractions in the MK to enjoy...Different Strokes for Different Folks!!!

Also FOR THE RECORD: They tried it your way with the Tiki Room..and that was called Under New Management with New HIP characters from more recent movies...Guess what the result of this was??? Yeah the picture below says it all.....

I have been in CBJ when it was quiet and I have been when it was rowdy. I liked it better a little quiet because then I could hear the words and enjoy the show. I do realize, however, that some of the words are..."so clap your hands and stomp your feet", so I guess that is what they wanted. My take on it is that the quiet shows are the ones with first timers that are either trying to listen and observe or don't know that they should get involved in it, and that the rowdy ones are the ones where a group of seasoned guests have returned to get deeply involved in the show. It's all good! :)

Ok, wait a second now... I highly doubt you're talking about the Tiki Room at Disneyland, but in case you are... There are some things you just don't get rid of. Walt Disney never said anything about getting rid of every single thing at DL from the time it was built when he was alive. He did say Disneyland would never be complete, and he was absolutely right about that. Now, back to Tiki. There are some attractions you just don't get rid of, and the Tiki Room is one of them. It's a HUGE fan favorite amongst Disneyland guests and if they EVER tried to get rid of it, our reaction would be something like this:

queen-of-hearts-6.jpg

Jose and the gang won't be going anywhere, and it's not a time for napping, especially when you can take your dole whip in the show. The Tiki Room has a cult following and even earned a spot in Remember... Dreams Come True at Disneyland.

The fans are not only cheering, they're singing along. The Tiki Room's not going anywhere.

Just a side note, listen to the reactions of the Disneyland fans, especially for Mansion, Pirates and Star Tours. Disneyland fans are hardcore, do not mess with our classics!

Oh lord, if the CBJ redneck racist argument wasn't enough, now someones turning it into a DL is better than WDW thread.

Oh, ok.:) I didn't want my post to sound anything like that. I haven't read through this entire thread but I don't see how the Country Bears are racist.
Yeah, that totally wasnt about you. The OP on this thread is saying how it's racist and it went downhill from there lol. And IMHO I don't think it is, but then again, I have a sense of humor. :D

I don't feel like reading through this. What exactly were the OP's reasons for stating the Country Bears are racist?

I think its finally time to hibernate the bears that have been putting guest to sleep for the last few decades. They are racist looking, creepy, stereotyped rednecks and not sure how they are still in business. I'm sure some of you like them, but thats more nostalgia than entertainment. Why not bring in a woody's roundup kind of show and give some love to jessie, and bullseye. I find that the western portion of the park is lacking and that would give it an a-list show. You could even get some use out of stinky pete..there is nowhere in any of the parks that i seen a show with woody or buzz unless im missing something.

There ya go Raven24 LOL
