I was really excited to ride this and slightly nervous because of a fear of heights, but I found Soarin to be so disapointing. For one thing, sitting in rows 2 or 3 you get a fabulous view of the feet above you. That kind of ruined the ride for me, trying to see the great views of CA while looking past a little girls Crocs.

It's really cool the way the ride works mechanically, but it just didn't excite me at all. The seats barely move, (I would say that they shift a bit) and you're mostly being blown on by a big fan.

I was expecting a lot more since the technology seems to be so great.
Did anybody else feel this way, because I feel kind of alone.

I really love the ride, although I know what you mean about the feet. Next time just do what I do, ask to be in the first row. You may have to wait until the next show but if the feet are that distracting (which they can be) then it's worth it.

1) EXCELLENT thread title!

2) I liked the ride and so did my daughter.

3) But you do have a point about the bottom 2 rows and the feet in front of you.

4) Also the screen was a little dirty, which even my 5-year-old remarked on.

But overall, we both thought it was fun!

You are definitely in the minority here....the new Zagat book on Disney rated this as one of the top rides (by survey). I can understand the "feet" issue...its much better in the first row. I can also see how sometimes if you have read so many reviews and your expectations get so high for something that its hard to live up to those expectations.

Also I loved the thread title.:D

I know what you mean about the feet, but like the other poster said you can easily forget about them if you focus on the screen.

Although I love the ride, I think Snorin' would have been a better title for your thread.

I hate heights ,LOVE soarin', think the film could use a cleaning but other than that its great. Try riding until you get a front row seat and see what you think then.

I agree with the original poster. The Soarin' concept has so much more potential than its realization. It's incredibly overrated. I know I'm in the minority with this opinion though based on the masses who regularly line up and waste two hours of their day riding the thing.
