We love it!

Somehow I've never noticed the feet.

It would be nice if somehow they were able to mix it up and make it a more random experience. Maybe one time when you ride it it is Soarin' over California, the next time it is Soarin' over Florida and the next time it is Soarin' over North Carolina. Would that be feasible...to have 4 or 5 different films that are played randomly throughout the day?:veryconfu

I guess that I just feel that they needed a new film when they imported it and that keeping the California film was a cop-out.
Thats my only problem with the ride. I guess I could see the CA film for the 25th anniv. but after that season they should have had a new film ready to go. And making it a bit longer wouldnt hurt. I do think this is a great attraction though.

I think you're pretty much alone on this one... Sorry.

"An Adventurers life is best!"

Actually, my brother hates the ride, claiming it is boring and not worth the wait, even for the first time. I, along with everyone else I know on the other hand, love the ride (minus the painful sight of that darn bug on the lens every show in theater A).

I've never noticed the feet either...I'm always more worried about smelling the oranges.

What's disappointing is the fact that there is actually someone who DOESN'T like Soarin'. It's only a few years old but for me, it's already a classic.

I have to agree with the OP, I was expecting more movement. I honestly couldn't believe that the ride I was so underwhelmed by was so many people's favorite. It seemed like there should have been more movement; it felt like I was just watching a movie while having air and smells blown into my face. The rest of my group really enjoyed it though, and the whole feeling of being elevated and surrounded by the screen is nice. I guess I was just letdown after reading so many rave reviews.

Nope - sorry, can't agree! I love Soarin and I know a lot of people complain about the feet hanging in front of you, but I really don't notice it all that much. I love the ride -- it's just relaxing and enjoyable - not meant to be a thrill ride.

Add our group to those who enjoy Soarin'. So much that we go straight to it on opening, grab FP, ride the ride, use the FP's, then head over to TT, then we grab FPs for Soarin' for later on in the day/evening. We are always at WDW during busy times so the FP's go quickly. We too ask for the B1 sections, or A1, C1. So looking forward to being back at WDW in August!

I am not a big fan either. It was a neat expierence but I would not say awesome. WAY to short (like most WDW rides IMHO) and it reminds me of the IMAX movies with a little movement.

I have never seen so many people with the same opinion on these boards! Maybe we should put "We all love Soarin' except for one person" under the website title.:ROFLOL:

I've read at least 5 or 6 less-than-favorable comments in this thread. I liked the ride, but I too was a little underwhelmed after reading all the gushing comments before my recent trip to WDW.

It's okay. It's not boring in my opinion. I would ride it again, but if I had to miss it, I wouldn't be too disappointed.

I agree with you actually, I never really knew what all the hype was about. I enjoy the ride, but it didn't have the 'wow' factor like Mission Space, Tower of Terror, Mickey's Philharmagic.

I love Soarin, the first time I rode it was the best ride obviously,I've been on it so many times that it doesn't have the WOW factor anymore, but I still love it!!!

Now Mission Space I have a totally different opinion, to me it's simply an intense simulator but aside from the spinning I feel like it's technology from the 80's.I love it everytime you feel the G's but aside from that I feel like I'm riding Star Tours which I don't anymore, just find it boring!!

As far as Tower Of Terror and Philharmagic,I could do those 2 rides over and over and will never get tired of them,Tower of Terror and Philharmagic are 2 of the best four or five attractions at WDW,TOT could possibly be no.1!!!!

Can't wait for the new movie for Soarin, but I also hope for special times in the year they can bring back the California version!!!

I liked it, but I, too, was a bit dissappointed. I think I'm such a thrill ride junkie, that I've become desensitized or something, because it seems to take more and more to thrill me. LOL When on Soarin', I was really waiting and hoping for them to make us go much, much "faster". Okay, sure, it's supposed to be a hanglider and not a supersonic plane, but I was really wanting to feel like I was Soaring fast, and I just didn't get that sensation.

Still a great ride, though.

I was really excited to ride this and slightly nervous because of a fear of heights, but I found Soarin to be so disapointing. For one thing, sitting in rows 2 or 3 you get a fabulous view of the feet above you. That kind of ruined the ride for me, trying to see the great views of CA while looking past a little girls Crocs.

It's really cool the way the ride works mechanically, but it just didn't excite me at all. The seats barely move, (I would say that they shift a bit) and you're mostly being blown on by a big fan.

I was expecting a lot more since the technology seems to be so great.
Did anybody else feel this way, because I feel kind of alone.

I strongly agree and I will not try to ride it with a wait more than 20 minutes.

I love the ride. I really do.

BUT.

They need a new movie. Like someone else had said, having it Soarin' over CA was a cool idea during the HCOE, but now? I'd much rather see a new movie having to do with The Land. Soarin' over your ninth-grade earth science class comes to mind... volcanoes, glaciers, deserts.... worldwide land masses that differe in sight, smell, and air! The possibilities are practically endless. Rainforests. Savannahs. Orange groves (sorry, I can't get enough of the orange smell!). Cities (like L.A. in the current flim). Crystal clear oceans. Snowy mountains. Volcanoes with lava pouring out. Death Valley. The Everglades. Antarctica.

And then... instead of just having it end over DLR, they could do a quick fly over for DLR, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and finally WDW!! YAY!!!
