Well, I would've been luckier if I had been in the loading area while the dream passes were being handed out, but I've done all the rides a million times already, seeing the family so freaking excited made my morning. It was neat.

i feel the exact same way! i would probably be happier seeing someone receive this, than I would actually receiving it myself... unless it was the stay in the castle for a night, or trip to all disney parks... haha.

If it was your 6year old It would be a different story!

No it wouldn't. What part of RANDOM do you not understand? We wonder why the kids today are the way they are. It is parenting like this. Maybe you should teach your 6 year old that he is in for a lot of disappointment in life. I would tell you to grow up because you are acting very immature about a RANDOM contest. Yo must have have grown up in a life of privilege, and one where people kisses your back side giving you what you want.. Is that how you are teaching your child? TO be a spoiled brat?

In any case, I love this RANDOM contest. Hopefully these prizes go to guests who are appreciative of receiving them and not to those who feel they HAVE to be given these prizes, like missionspace does...

On Friday, I was part of a YOMD magical moment. I was working in Tomorrowland with Buzz. Two families were picked to ride Buzz's ride with Buzz. We rode once in the morning and again in the afternoon. The best part of the experience was seeing how happy they were. The mom of the 2nd kid was so happy that she started crying (it was her son's birthday). It just made me so happy.

I was at MGM on Thursday (9/28) and they were "testing" giving away free fast passes. Everyone that was in our backlot tour was give free fast passes for MGM studios that were good for one ride through Sept 30. They also gave something away to a guy in a red shirt, but I did not get to see what it was. I thought the new name tags were neat as well. We just got back tonight from a great trip.

I didn't bother to read any of the posts except for a few in the beginning ..... but I wanted to give my .02 on this Dream Squad deal...

They are trying very hard to be as discreet as possible. In fact, there are a lot of things that must be confirmed before even hinting at the fact that you may win a prize (if the prize of course is on a larger scale..) such as having a passport, etc. They don't want to make a huge scene because as we all know about 75% of WDW guests are ...well.... how can I put it nicely.... the scum of the earth? That's not to say that a lot of our guests are awesome and can even make our days special.... but realistically a lot of you don't know some of the things we put up with....that's another story for another day......they would probably kill the Dream Squad CM and the guest...

And by the way, following these Dream Squad members is not only stupid and pointless but will probably just result in following an extremely happy CM who will only greet you and no more.

That's awesome! I would love to have seen that. I was hoping there were more special moments like this, and not all giveaways.

With how this seems to be going.. any bets on how long until Disney starts to really fall behind on awarding the dreams because the Dream Squad has quit?

Really, it's not uncommon for positions talked about as unfavorably as there to be very quickly vacated, even if it means the CMs leave the company.

And when no one transfer in because everyone has heard the horror stories.. then what?

I guess that's when middle management steps in ?

Amazing to me still is how unapprecative the non winners are.

Yes it is supposed to be fun for the winners, but there is a fine line with the luck from the random winner, and the mad guest that wasn't picked.

It's kind of why I didn't and don't want to be on the dream squad, for the next 15 months, it will probably be pure hell.

Yet it's going to be a heck of a fun 15 months working the parks!

Sadly, if guests enough about not winning something to management.... they may receive something on a smaller scale or maybe even equivalent (such as a fastpass or priority entrance)... :brick:

Hourly cast isnt paid enough to take guest abuse. Thats why they call managers. They are paid enough to take abuse, not enough to buy a nice house or a nice car, but enough to hear someone like missionspace complain that their kid didnt get a $0.50 piece of paper with 6 tabs on it.

Please... :brick:

it's ironic that this new celebration is suppose to bring magic and good manners into the park....yet early on it's having the opposite affect....People and this entitlement crap. No one is entitled to anything. One one is better then anyone else, but this day of age most people don't see this.
