My concern is TDO would rather build a new daytime parade that can also run at night and do away with having a light parade all together.
It certainly looks like that's where we're heading...

Couple parts from the Timpani unit were pulled to be used on the tink float. nothing big though. That's all I know about, but I'll check.
I don’t know what to make of all this. I used to think “TDO/WDW/MK would never to this. The reason DL is the way it is because DL stopped making light parades after LM flopped”. However, after looking on ebay at old DL Today Guides, it turns out that DL’s Mulan opened as just a night parade in summer 1998. So, really, DL cut their Day Parade I’m thinking in fall 1998, moved Mulan to Afternoon and Evening and never looked back. So, who knows what DL was thinking and what MK/TDO are now thinking.
What would be interesting to see is (I hope I’m not giving out bad ideas)if TDO wants/needs to save money is if TDO/Davidson could make 2 Parades using the same floats. A day one and a night one. Look at CADCT, same floats under 3 parade titles since 2001. Castle Float since at least 1985. Some floats are refreshed from time to time. I think the Castle Float just got new lights or strobes for MOUACT 2012 and the’re on for CADCT 2013
I really don’t want to lose MESP or Spectro but if it has to happen, If TDO can make 2 Parades out of the new floats or at least run the new Day Parade 2-3 times a day(typical CADCT/MESP schedule) it might look better than what DL has now.

I have a friend who tells me he heard that those floats were *pushed into the water*....as in, dumped in some large body of water so they would not be found or salvaged.

I believe that WDW will get a rehashed "New" Day Parade and they will just go with the "Celebrate The Magic®" for their nighttime offering.
I'm sorry but who really knows?!?!?!?
I read online a few years back that HKDL dumped WDW's MSEP in the Ocean!!!! HKDL could have used MSEP on Main Street! I find it disgraceful for a DISNEY park to do that! I pray to god and walt those rumors aren't true!!!!!

HKDL doesn't need WDW's hand-me-down MSEP, they'll get their own brand new light parade soon enough.

I just felt like saying it because of the topic. I mean, how horrible to see MSEP go overboard if the rumors are true!!!!!

I'm afraid I am the confirmer of bad news..
Spectro has seen it's last show.. The damage to the floats is EXTENSIVE.. Termites, woodrot, electrical issue, etc.. All related to the hap-hazard storage that the parade was subjected to.
The price tag to rebuilt/replace most EVERYTHING is approx. 2.6 million.. Management has passed, and it's likely that MSEP will have to roll for some time until a new show can be developed and brought on line..
I'm not happy, and I'm not happy to bring this news to you guys...

Very sad to here that. I still remember the first time i saw that show. it was over 10 years later until i returned to the MK with my family and I was so happy to see and hear that parade again. Sad that its done.I'm afraid I am the confirmer of bad news..

Very sad.
I feel like I just read an obituary. Like an old friend who I hadn't seen in awhile ...and couldn't wait to see again is now gone. Our beloved Spectro will be missed.

To me, the music is what I always enjoyed the most as well. I'd actually prefer an updated new parade with that music anyway, but not expecting that by any means.

While a new, spectacular night time parade would be great, I'm a little bummed that I never got to say a proper good bye to Spectro. It brought me a ton of joy over the years. Thanks for the memories Spectro. Now, lets get rid if MSEP and move on to bigger and better.

Very sad. MSEP will probably eventually meet a similar fate and also run into the ground. I far preferred Spectro over MSEP, particularly the music. The idea of not hearing Spectro's music, potentially ever again, is very disheartening. I feel similarly to the way I did when Epcot lost many of its classic rides and wonderful music attached. I don't expect we'll even see a new parade any time soon either, sad state of affairs.
I agree with what 71 and others have said here though. I want an awesome new parade but with Spectro's music, similar to how Dreamlights was to MSEP (new parade but with the same classic music, perhaps even better). A massively upgraded take on Spectromagic. Given the way WDW has been going lately, It's foolish to get any hopes up.
