Rumor-Spectro probably isn't coming back

Enchanted Adventures would be a good temporary stop gap over the summer period.. and yes, all of the units are still at WDW and into top shape.. a lot of them are used in other parades like boo to you.

You almost make it sounds like it's being considered. Call me crazy, but if they're too (I'm just gonna say it) stupid to fix Spectromagic, this sounds like a great idea to hold over The electrical parade until they can get a new one.

I don't enjoy the electrical parade, and I did enjoy spectro. However, regardless of my personal feelings, The electrical parade is in terrible show condition. The thing looks ridiculous rolling through the world's most attended theme park most nights. SOMETHING's gotta give, right?

Maybe Steve Davision is working on both a new daytime parade And a new nighttime parade for WDW lol. When pigs fly.

I hightly doubt a brand new light parade will be built, and there is no need to do so. Even TDL did not choose to do that and kept with the Electrical parade concept. Spectro's concept is great! It just needs to be rebuilt and perhaps get the Dreamlights treatment. There is soo much potential!

DreamLights was a brand new parade, it just shares some of the themes from MSEP - it was not a rebuild.

Most likely. Tokyo destroys their parades when they close, and use any salvageable mechanical parts to begin construction on a new one. They have such limited space that they cannot hold onto floats that are not in use.

Unless another Disney Park is interested in purchasing the floats like Paris did with Fantilusion and Hong Kong with 100 years of Magic.

I'm also not understanding the discussion that the Electrical Parade falling apart. Before leaving for Orlando this Parade was given a huge refurbishment. Surely in the last few years things haven't fallen apart already. I know WDW upkeep and maintenance is truly abysmal at times. But surely it's not to this level? Recent rumours that TDA have told TDO to keep it further suggest Spectromagic isn't coming back.

At this point, MSEP is staying for AT LEAST three more years. If it doesn't fall apart first, there's almost always at least one or two units missing from the parade, it's in terrible shape...

If MK shuts off MSEP, they could use Enchanted Adventures while they fix MSEP. They have the soundtrack and the floats. They could tie in with LTM and also bring back MM&M. Fanti needs to go somewhere! WDW, DLR, and most likely even HKDL has better running records than DLRP!!!
if Fantillusion were to anywhere, as much as i'd like to seen it come to Anaheim, that's out of the ? do to the width of the floats (they were designed to fit Tokyo's parade route whixch i THINK is still the widest parade route of the 5 Magic Kingdoms

Some floats would probably be difficult to come to WDW from other parks too. We have some very sharp turns on our route. E.G. Town Square more than 90 Degree turns, and in front of the Riverboat. Plus we also have the wreaths at Christmastime so height is an issue with our route as well. (Hence why the clock top is down for the Holidays in the Electrical Parade.) Just speculation though.

That was one of the things that made MSEP look so ridiculous at DCA. DCA's parade route is among the widest (if not the widest) in any Disney park, and the narrow little MSEP floats, designed for DL, looked pretty lame on it.

The latest I've heard is that some of the Spectro floats are being dismantled for parts to make necessary repairs to Main Street Electrical Parade. Not sure how accurate that is, my source isn't rock-solid...

Everytime i see MSEP, it looks like more and more is missing. Saturday night, one of the parade control cm ran from one side to the other in between the turtle units and one unit turned and hit her right on the face. Several lights flew off and the glasses on the turtle were damaged.

From what I've heard, The Silly Symphonies, and Chernabog Floats are basically in complete disrepair.

So No.

if this is true... this is completely irresponsible for Disney to let this happen. I know there are places in the parks they aren't upkeeping as much as they use to and now this. All of this ends up costing the fans more and more because of costly mistakes. If they spend a little here and there they will save more then not spending a penny and then having the "oh $h!@" moment which costs them a lot more later. typical business practice I know... but cmon, this is Disney they should be smarter

What they should be doing is using parts from MSEP to repair Spectro!

Should new floats be built, would they go with the "Dreamlights" look and technology?

My concern is TDO would rather build a new daytime parade that can also run at night and do away with having a light parade all together :(.
