Okay, so we went this past weekend to WDW for a family friend's wedding. We went Fri -Sun. Saturday afternoon, me, my mother, and my 8th month decide to go to the kiddie pool (we stayed at the Boardwalk). We go about 1:30pm and it's packed. Every chair has a towel/clothes, etc. on it. My mom stands under a tree while we play in the pool. After about 20 min. the pool attendant comes and cleans off the majority of the towels on the chairs not being used. i motion to my mother. She sits down and then my father comes to join us. Well after about 10 min. A lady walks up and bluntly tells my mother that she reserved the table and all those chairs with her towels and magazines and she wants to know where they are at? My mom states that the attendant took up the towels and her magazines. She then proceeds to tell us that she has reserved the area since 8am for when she came back from the park! WHAT????? Finally my mom just got up and left before she became confrontational. You can't reserve a giant section at any pool at 8am go to a park and expect it to be there when you get back. Am I wrong? She was so rude and inconsiderate. It's Disney on Easter weekend, SHARE!!! Anyone else deal with rude people at WDW?

Don't blame you getting mad! I would be mad too if that happened to me. You are either in the parks or at the swimming pool, you can't be in both places!

:lookaroun Then, I would have thrown a drink in her face and pushed her in the pool.

I would have actually politely told her to take it up with the Disney CM. I would not have moved an inch.

Definately German. Fawlty Towers style of course.

WDW brings in all cross sections of society. I`d have picked myself up from laughing and told to take it to the front desk.

Absolutely ridiculous!! I wouldn't have moved an inch. I can understand setting your things down while you run to get something out of the car, but reserving a seating area that will remain vacant while you go and do something else for the entire day.... that's like going to a movie theater at noon, reserving your favorite seats with your coats until the 9pm showing that you're planning on going to.... ABSURD!!

That's SO ridiculous! I wouldn't have moved off that chair! I bet that woman still feels like she was right, too. :fork:

I was in the MK last Wednesday, and came across some rude people. Mostly in the form of larger groups trying to cut in line at Pirates. You know how wide the queue is, right? Well, 2 different groups (one of teenagers and another a large Hispanic family) kept trying to sneak by us at every turn. My parents were just going to let them go, but not me! :ROFLOL: I made my parents help me form a barrier, and I took the side they were trying to get by on. I'm a tall girl, and they were NOT getting by me. Well, a few already had, but I was not letting the rest through. They even pushed me a bit, but I made myself as big as possible and pushed back, while giving them the evil eye. finally the ones who had cut already slunk back when they realized the others weren't making it. It was too crowded for me to put up with that stuff. I wasn't letting these idiots make my family be in line one minute more than we were supposed to be. And for two totally separate groups to be attempting to cut in front of us at the same time... my head almost exploded! :hammer:

Isn't that nuts? All to get on the ride maybe 30 seconds sooner than they would by not shoving past your family. :brick:

As far as the woman at the pool... What time of day did this happen? If it was 11am or later, I'm really shocked the attendant didn't clear the stuff of the sun chairs sooner! The true icing on the cake would have been if they walked up as your mother was reading their magazines.

Have to say though, americans are not exempt from this either. We were walking along the 'looooooong' queue to get into Finding Nemo: The Musical, where this mother-daughter combo walked up our heels the whole time then even as we were going in the door, walked in front of us, and ran down the front, then realised they couldn't get down there and tried to push in front of us again.

Unfortunately, rudeness us a multi-national thing. Interestingly, I notice quite often, and this must be a cultural thing but here in the UK, I always hold the door open for people and when they walk through, they say thanks. It's not a biggie, but it's nice when someone says thanks.

This year when we were out I notcied a lot of people just walk straight through the door like I'm some sort of door man. This one time at Premium Outlets, I actually got a reaction. I held the door open for a guy coming out of the character warehouse who just walked through with his kid, not even acknowledging, so I did the international 'what gives' gesture and he actually responded and went....'oh thanks'. Maybe not a biggy but it's a pet peeve!

I absolutely wouldn't disagree Matt. Although some stereotypes hold true, rudeness is a worldwide epidemic that is rapidly spreading. I too hold the door open for others and although many say thank you, I notice that very few people actually hold the door open for others these days. It's sad that we all can't be nice to one another anymore. Maybe it's because most people are too busy reading something on their smartphones to realize that they had just let the door close in someone else's face. *sigh* I have a smartphone, but I still pay attention.

Isn't it in the rules, you cannot reserve chairs? If not then I'm going to go over and reserve my chair at the pool for my june visit now :lookaroun

I understand having the towel and stuff when your at the pool and doing stuff, but reserving a table and chairs at the resort pool for your family while they're at the theme parks... thats a new one for me.

Possibly. What really gets me, and it's maybe just me but if I hold a door for someone it's usually just that - holding it. The amount of people that just walk through and not even bother to hold the door, as if i'm some sort of door man.

Anyhoo back on topic...queue jumpers! Grrr!

If I've went to the pool by myself at the resort i'll throw a towel on a chair whilst i'm in the pool.
