Honestly, I'm gonna miss all the little arguments. People would get peeved over the smallest things! :lol: I for one rarely go to my User CP, so I had no idea if I was getting green, red, grey, tellow, purple... :snore:

I have a feeling that the boards won't be as negative anymore either. It seems like a lot of trouble and arguments were started by receiving negative reps and not knowing who they came from.

The rep points were only a part of the problem.

Anyway, while my user CP looks empty now :lol: I guess this is for the best. Too bad it was abused.

Hi everyone

Just to update you on the status reputation system trial.

Unfortunately the hope I had that the reputation system would improve standards hasnt really paid off, and I have decided to remove the system from use. It's been a worthwhile test, and I am glad we tried it out to at least make our own decision about it's effectiveness in a real live scenario.

Thanks for taking part in the trial, and I hope you continue to enjoy WDWMAGIC.

Honestly, I can understand why it was removed - there were a lot of trollish/hotheaded people who abused it. Though it was nice in theory to be able to thank someone with a rep point for a truly informative post.

When I signed on this morning, I could have sworn I saw my messages in my User CP and the little green and/or red boxes in posts. As soon as I saw this thread, I didn't see them anymore. Maybe I got used to seeing them there and when I found out they were gone I finally noticed it. (Blonde....)

I'm gonna miss my collection of green boxes. Although, I don't blame you Steve. I got kinda tired of seeing people constantly asking what the heck the rep system was, complaining that they got bad reps, ect. I also hated it when people would say some words to me in my bad reps.

lol, like others said... Kind of a bummer that the CP is naked, and we'll now have to PM if we like a particular thread I suppose... But on the other hand, it is good to take away the negativity it sometimes created...

Steve, would it be an option to bring back positive rep point-ing? (Only positive) In theory, you could then still use the part of the system we all seemed to enjoy while eliminating the half that appeared to cause most of the problems.

Well, I get the notifications for those, and then I just hit New Posts to browse around.
