Do you hate the Haunted Mansion because it's a tiny little building which you don't even enter through the front door and there's no way the whole ride takes place in a building that looks as though if you stood next to it, you're half its height?Again, it is about action versus reaction. Immersion is another description for that same reaction. If suspension of disbelief is just actively ignoring things then there is no point to all of the effort that went into the best themed experiences. Why bother building intricate facades and detailed show sets if people are expected to just pretend they’re better? Why develop something like the Omnimover to direct people’s view if they should just ignore all of the infrastructure that would otherwise be visible?
Huh? Why is entering the front door relevant? You do stand next to the manor house.Do you hate the Haunted Mansion because it's a tiny little building which you don't even enter through the front door and there's no way the whole ride takes place in a building that looks as though if you stood next to it, you're half its height?
Probably not.
When do you think ?I agree with the position that this is opening way sooner then we think.
When do you think ?
I’d be surprised if it wasn’t open by mid June.May, to offset Spaceship Earth closing. If not then, June.
Does that mean not May?I’d be surprised if it wasn’t open by mid June.
Can you link or show the specific pictures or views that bugged you? I saw these pics a few pages back on this thread and I thought the theming looked good.Do these exteriors bug anybody? I know it's not completed yet, but it all looks so cheap, fake, and inauthentic. The Paris in the Ratatouille cartoon looks better than this. Not up to Disney standards.
I think they are referring to the second set of facades behind the buildings in the first photo that are 2d instead of 3d.Can you link or show the specific pictures or views that bugged you? I saw these pics a few pages back on this thread and I thought the theming looked good.

Yes I see what you mean. Even though 2D flats, the paint job could be better (possibly) for example darkening the shadows under the architectural details to make the 3D trompe d'oeil effect "pop" a little more. Ultimately however it cannot be escaped that this is a fake movie-set backlot version of Paris and stagecraft can only get you so farI think they are referring to the second set of facades behind the buildings in the first photo that are 2d instead of 3d.
Stagecraft can get you a lot further. A huge chunk of this expansion is going to be rather shallow facades with some clearly glued onto a wall.Yes I see what you mean. The ridiculous placement of the attraction was influenced by the Skyliner. It's a shame the skyline view wasn't taken into consideration and the entire building given the proper treatment.
