Ratatouille in Epcot

Buy who's to say they wouldn't close Impressions de France when Ratatouille opens... to save some payroll!

exactly, rumor has been around and about that its days are numbered, I would not be surprised if they did go with a ratatouille or other addition that the impressions space would somehow be utilized as a connecting queue in some form/some way, or some other use.

If Ratatouille opens in let's say in 5 years then it will become even more dated. Same with the American Adventure.
Dated? The hardware or the material? IDF is digital. AmAd however is not. And needs to be.

The material is another discussion.

They could still fit it in. They would probably need to relocate the restrooms next to Gaston's tavern and build a walkway across Magic Kingdom Drive to the grassy area behind the current LM show building. They would probably need to either relocate the road or dig down to make the road a tunnel and the pedestrian walkway over Magic Kingdom drive a bridge. It's probably cheaper to just relocate the road behind the new show building. See the photo below:

That's an incredibly tough road to move/mess with as it is vital to MK Operations. EVERYONE that works at MK on a daily basis has to take a bus down that (gated) road, which leads to drop off straight at the Tunnels.

If they were to ever do any sort of changes to that road to try to make the road underground and build above it, it would be a major project that they would have to go about completing very carefully as it could mess with day-to-day operations.

What is the rumor? Also, I kind of like the idea of incorporating disney characters into the world showcase but ONLY IN THE COUNTRIES THEY BELONG IN!

I do too, though I wouldn't dare admit it if you hadn't !! While we're at it...We all hated to see Snow White's Adventure leave Fantasyland, why can't she make a comeback in Germany? I would like to think that eventually, in the far future, there could be a ride for each country and more options for families with young children who want to see World Showcase but find it too difficult with a toddler in tow....

I agree that the sinking the road and creating a tunnel would be a major project and probably not worth the cost or effort.

If they wanted to just re-route the road they could just build a new direct road first before closing the existing one. It would probably still require a new overpass over the canal and train tracks which isn't cheap or easy (blue line on picture below). Depending on the size of the show building they might have enough room to have the existing road wind around the show building without a new overpass (red line below). I copied and pasted the LM show building into the wooded area in question to show that they could still fit a pretty good sized show building even with the road winding through.

There are more options. Legoland, Chuck E. Cheese, any sandbox.
